Others bickered with you over price and cause. I tried to cut
to the issue underneath. The fact that you had such a reaction
means I came close to the mark. My intent was to help by
getting to the hard part. It worked at least partially.

Huh? I did not see the posts of the others as "bickering" at all. I
appreciated all who took the time to post their thoughts, and I have
thanked them! Even you LOL!

My "reaction" was, to what I percieved as, your meanness.

If your intent was helpful and kind, you could use a lesson in
diplomacy. Don't run for president LOL (laugh with me here).

Hard part? Worked at least partially? Sorry, but I don't read
between the lines very well. I'm a straight-on kind of person. But
I'll try to respond to this the best I can, since you didn't make it
clear enough for this dummy:
If all I gained from your first post to me was suprise and disgust at
what I percieved as meanness, then I don't think anything worked for
you there, unless that was your intent.

So you're fine then. Yet you complain about chicken prices when
chicken meat costs almost as little as broccoli, and you think
I'm mean when I ask you if you want to work through your pickiness
issues. Okay, you're fine.

Good, now we are getting somewhere LOL Yes, I'm fine :)

Again, I whine about chicken costs because... and Im gonna capitalize
this 'cause nobody seems to "HEAR" it in my other posts...I AM TALKING
ABOUT CHICKEN BREAST MEAT WHICH I USUALLY FIND FOR AS HIGH AS 4.99 LB,
AND WHEN I CAN FIND IT AT 1.99 LB, WHICH IS RARE, I BUY A LOT OF IT.
Where is it you live where chicken breast meat is as cheap as
broccoli?

Yes I thought is was mean when you asked if I wanted to work through
my "issues", because of the way you presented your offer. I quote it
again he "Are you interested in working out the issues to get to
the
point where you don't have any trouble eating just plain food from the
grocery store? You get to stay picky if you want; all the extra
effort
that goes with it too." It sounded mean and sarcastic. And assumptive
on a personal level, which I found insulting.

I did not come here and tell people here that meat growers and pork
eaters need to work through their "issues" because they are not like
me. I would never do that to someone.

I would never insist you had "issues" because you ate whatever you do
that I don't. Or because you only eat the crowns of your broccoli,
where I eat all of it, or whatever.

Doug, I apologize if I misunderstood your message as mean instead of
well-meaning. Sometimes a lot gets lost in "typing", especially among
total strangers. Maybe if I had heard your voice/seen face, your
helpfulness would have been recieved in the spirit in which you
intended. :)

That was very well put! :)

Yes I whined! Whiiiiiiiiiine! I wouldn't if my preferred chicken
breast meat was always 1.99 lb LOL I just didn't expect to get
slammed for my meat choices/preferences LOL I do not have any desire
to eat the parts of chickens I can not now stand; I do not want to eat
lamb, veal, deer, most pork, and even seafood, because I *have* tried
them and I *hate* them LOL LOL But there are meats I do enjoy a lot.

Again, I apologize for the misunderstanding, and I thank you also for
your offer, which I humbly decline.

I never expect sympathy for anything, but what I usually do expect is
for people do be kind to eachother... which is not hard at all, even
in typing... :) Wanna work through that issue? LOL LOL (laughing
with you)

Take care......

I would suggest bnls. thigh in the bag at Sams or Costco. Taste
is better and 1/2 the price.

I'm another one that only eats chicken breast meat. Taste is pretty
subjective. You might think thighs "taste better", but I don't. I
think dark meat, in general, tastes pretty nasty.

It's white meat chicken for me...and I'm more than happy to pay the
extra price for it.

You can get 10 lb bag of leg 1/4's at most WalMart's for $3.70.

Probably because they figure people are scared to eat beef so they'll
have to buy chicken. So up the price to take advantage of it.

My lack of diplomacy? No thanks. There are plenty of folks on ASDLC
who do it a lot better than I do and I'm happy with that. Diversity
is strength. It takes a village to raise a child. And similar
cliches that show important wisdom.

My niche is the technical scientist who works in the biochemistry
feedback loops to understand why more carbs are better than less and
to evangelize the entire Atkins process as a result. My niche is to
play the part of a drill sargeant to gruffly point folks towards the
entire process. The two niches work most of the time. Not always
but that's the way the extra sharp cheddar crumbles. It's my
counterpoint in the chorus of other posters.

Snow Wolf,
I would suggest looking for your meat elsewhere besides the grocery store.
Try finding a local meat locker (like a mom and pop place) the quality and
prices will be better. My parents run a meat locker and our chicken is
always around 1.99 per pound and I rarely find myself cutting gunk off (I
wouldn't eat that stuff either).

I find the chicken down at the Farmer's Market is not only cheaper but
bigger, fresher and tastes and looks better.
