Default Diet Linked To Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Leeks

Oh, neat. I eat all of these on my low-carb diet except the last 4.

I
might eat leeks if I knew what they were, lol. Too bad spinach isn't

on
the list, I eat a lot of that too.

They are very tasty vegetables, unfortunately quite carby - 12g carbs
and 61kcal per 100g. Just have 400g of them, made with onion, chicken a
curry. 50g load of carbs, but hey, I can afford it already

fruits are always restricted because they contain a lot of carbs (sans
avocado).

That said, within one's daily allowance of carbs, fruits are
permitted. I feel that vegetables give more bang for the buck than
fruits anyway, and eat about one apple per day only as far as fruits
are concerned.

I personally think that there is a lot of truth in raw foodism, which
is saying that raw foods are great foods. The logical fallacy that
they make is saying that they want to ONLY eat raw foods, instead of
correctly saying that they should eat a lot of raw foods.

So, a great majority of what I eat is raw, sans for meat and
such. Tried to eat raw meat also, but it is not very practicable due
to spoliation/contamination issues.

Veges are way better than fruits in my opinion -- less carbs and higher
fiber typically. I do tend toward the berries though, and eat some type
of berry almost every day. My typical day includes a large salad,
tomatoes, onions, cooked tomatoes (salsa), and berries. Also, I eat nuts
almost every day.

Meat, Saturated Fat, Dairy May Raise Risk

"What we found is if a person has a higher intake of animal protein,
they will have a higher risk of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma," Zheng tells
Web. "And people who have a higher intake of saturated fat have
an increased risk. On the other hand, if you have higher-than-average
intake of dietary fiber -- particularly if you frequently eat vegetables
and fruits with a high fiber content -- you have a reduced risk of
non-Hodgkin's lymphoma."

The findings appear in the March 1 issue of the American Journal
of Epidemiology.

Earlier studies hinted at the same thing. Now, Zheng says, it
seems clear that a major factor in the mysterious rise of
non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is a diet high in meat, saturated fats,
dairy products, and eggs and low in fiber, fruits, and vegetables.

Diets that are moderate in meat, saturated fats, dairy
products and eggs are not linked with non-Hodgkin's
lymphoma.

"vegan" diets are linked with B-12 deficiency.

You are one of the most obstinate peddlers of psychobabble on usenet. You
believe the earth is hollow and secretly inhabited by another species or race of
enlightened beings, you cannot bring yourself to dismiss leprechauns as the
fanciful legend of your drunken countrymen, and you stubbornly cling to
unenlightened positions (e.g., ion fountains, the patent for the globe,
feed:beef ratios, etc.) despite facts and logic and the convincing arguments of
others to disabuse you of your ridiculous errors. As for common sense, you are
thoroughly devoid of it. Your marriage to a skinhead proves that one.

Your list still dishonestly contains inaccuracies and lies, foolish suspect.

Tell me what is inaccurate or a lie and I'll amend it further; I've already
addressed the issues you've raised with it. You've repeatedly admitted that the
points are correct.

Ad hominem, and untrue.

Not ad hominem - you don't know what the term means, so
obviously you misuse it - and it *is* true. You
demonstrate thorough lack of ability with logic, you
exhibit zero common sense, and you are ignorant of the
relevant facts in every topic you discuss. Among the
more egregious intellectual sins you commit is your
insistence that humans are not naturally meat eaters,
when the virtually unanimous view of anthropologists
and zoologists is that humans evolved as naturally
omnivorous meat eaters. You are wrong, and have ZERO
science on your side; science - REAL science, not Jeff
Rense-quality horse**** pseudoscience - says humans are
naturally omnivores.

I wonder how vegans could claim that their diet is "naturally fitting
human beings" if people develop critical vitamin deficiencies while on
it.

They driven by an agenda rather than science. Lesley, aka "pearl," has some very
peculiar ideas about human diet, most of them lifted from a "vegan motorcyclist"
webpage. She's a flake.

Try eating raw spinach, it tastes pretty good. 400 grams of raw
spinach is a whole lot.

I had it yesterday Although I am not following atkins plan, at least
strictly, I still believe that 5lb from my target, I am supposed to
increase my carbs anyway... Leek is worth it.
