Default Flaxseed Meal, Whole Ground Same As Milled Flax?

Whole Ground Flaxseed Meal bought at health store, 1lb. $2.60, not
sold in bulk, cal 60, carbs 4, no sugars, 2 tbsp per serving.

Is this what I should or could be using to help with "you know what."
Is that a good price? Psyllium husks were $13 a lb. I'd rather take an
enema then pay that. Any other inexpensive suggestions. Looking for no
sugars and low in carbs and cheap. Thanks.

Flaxmeal is ground up flaxseed. You can save even more by buying whole
seed and grinding it yourself-- a coffee or spice grinder is perfect.
It's available in my area (central midwest) at healthfood stores for
around a buck to 1.29 a pound for the seed. There are two types, dark
brown, and 'golden' which is slightly more expensive and milder tasting.
Otherwise they're exactly the same.

Flaxseed fluffs up to twice its size when you grind it so 2 tablespoons
of whole seed equals 1/4 cup ground (about the right amount for hot
cereal), which will definitely keep you regular. You might only need to
eat 1 tablespoon a day though, and you can mix it into shakes,
omelettes, as filler for meatloaf, etc, even on salads. You never have
to taste it if you don't want to (when it's fresh it's slightly nutty).

I love my Trader Joes psyllium .. only 4 bucks for 12 ounces .. lasts a long
time
and works like a dream. I have a total of 4 tablespoons per week.

I like to grind it in batches. Keep one batch in the freezer and an active
one in the fridge. doesn't go rancid.
