I just block them all.
"Laura" wrote in message ... They are all trolls thats for sure. I delete the posts so I can't go back and check but I suspect that "Steve Cheney" and NR are one and the same. Just ignore them. Filter them if you can. They keep changing e-mail addresses so filtering is like shooting at a moving target. Another sign of a troll. "Shannon & John" wrote in message ... I'm new here....and to newsgroups in general, and maybe should just mind my own business, but what is the deal with Steve Cheney's posts? Why, after each post by this person, is there a post by someone called NR that says it was a forgery? It seems like Steve Cheney is just posting articles, so why the controversy? I know what trolls are, but does this qualify? And who's the troll? Just thought I'd ask...... |

If you're using Outlook Express, you can go to Tools, Message Rules, News and make a new rule like this: Apply this rule after the message arrives Where the From line contains 'chaney' Delete it This filters people who keep the same screen name but change their email address constantly. |

Great suggestion. I forgot about the message rules. Now if we can just get
people to stop replying to them so we don't see all of the replies. I found a software program (nfilter) that is supposed to allow you to filter with OE and Agent but I haven't had time to play with it yet. I want to see if I can filter out any message that is cross posted. That would get rid of the trolls and their replies for sure. "Chrys" wrote in message ... "Laura" wrote in message ... I use OE and in order to do what you suggest, you have to have the newsgroup
in you NEWS folder to set up a rule for it. "Laura" wrote in message ... Great suggestion. I forgot about the message rules. Well, not all of those postings are bad news altho, many of them are.
The lastest series actually had some good articles. I also don't quite understand the vigilante who trails along on all of those postings. I have taken to ignoring those most definitely. I mark the messages ignored...then someone will reply to it and change the
subject line and I get it again :-( -- SuzyQ Weight 124 WW Lifetime Membership Feb 03 "Laura" wrote in message ... Great suggestion. I forgot about the message rules. I wish I could block them, but I'm using the free version of FreeAgent, so the closest I can get is to block the original message when it comes in to ignore the thread... ....so I merely skim the headers and ignore anything with that name on!
