Default Week 11 - Hello "Plataeu-sville"

I lost .2 this week. Down 8.4 lbs since I rejoined.

Like the name says I am in the middle of a big old plataeu. I looked
at my card and barring one gain from that wedding weekend that I lost
by the next WI I am down exactly one pound in four weeks.

When I saw I was kinda stalling I made sure to really ramp up my water
intake (up to 6-7 bottles of water a day now), lessen soda intake (1
diet soda a day), make all my points more well rounded (I really
worked on eating more "real food this week" and less pre-processed
package stuff and making it more rounded), and adding more activity. I
have been progressively working the program more and more diligently
as the weeks go on rather than the reverse (getting lazy with the
program).

I just wish the scale would move!

I have about 22 or so more pounds to lose and if I have to lose it at .
2 lb increments I have to admit that is very discouraging and
frustrating. I'll do it...I am commited this time...but I have to tell
you it is a buzz kill.

So tell me how have you broken through your plateaus?

That's more a slow down than a plateau...

You've got it right, stick to it and it'll move!

I eat fewer beef meals and fewer carbs. Instead of a starch with
dinner, I'll fix two vegetables and a salad.

Default Week 11 - Hello "Plataeu-sville"

honestly I really haven't, I accepted that staying the weight I am right now
and giving WW money for the rest of my life is better than regaining. I
know that sounds weird but it is how I cope with it, when I have a loss I am
pleased, when I have a gain I try and figure out why. This is how I live
now and I do try different things but I don't let anything freak me out
anymore, if I get freaked too much I am afraid I will just quit, Lee

Default Week 11 - Hello "Plataeu-sville"

Oh Melissa! You and I are twins! I actually avoided going to my normal
weigh in today with the hopes of trying to squeeze another fraction of a
pound off by tomorrow. I doubt I'll succeed, but either way, I just
couldn't face going tonight. Mothers day held a world of yummy food... I at
a smallllll teeny breakfast so I could have a hugeeeeee lunch. I didn't eat
dinner (too full ; ) but the scale knew I pigged out. I just needed a
break, you know?

Anyway, upping your water I think is the major thing. I stuck to that
really good the beginning of last week, but then somehow got 'too busy' to
remember it. I think I am going to pay the price tomorrow at WI because of
it (and my pigging out on Mother's day... hhaaa!)

Anyway, I hope your plateau goes away and you make 10 next weigh in! : )

smiles!

Hi Melissa,

It's probably a little early for you to have hit a plateau. You also are
still losing but just a lot slower than expected/desired rate. Here's a site
about breaking through Plateaus that I found:
http://www.geocities.com/dwlzquotes/breakingthrough.htm that might give you
some ideas on how to get things back on track.

Other thoughts:
-check your portions
-check for hidden calories
-increase your water
-increase your exercise
-make sure you are having something different to eat each day for breakfast
-limit your "treats" to only a couple of points a day.
-swap out a fruit serving (or 2) with a veggie.

Give it time. Your body may be adjusting to losing or your diet just needs
to be tweaked.
