No, it's not a good idea. 1) If you like your current trainer, and are seeing the results you want, you should continue with her. Just cause this other trainer is hot, doesn't mean he'll train you as well. 2) Trainers are like health care providers. If they have a professional relationship with you, they should not be having an intimate relationship with you. So if what you really want to do is date this guy, then you have ample opportunity to get to know him in the gym. And since he won't be YOUR personal trainer, he'll be free to go out with you if it turns out he's as attracted to you and you are to him. It is unethical for a trainer to date his trainee... so if you switch to him, don't expect anything more than a professional relationship. |

Staying motivated is tough. With the new trainer you'll have a leg up, so
to speak. "Fairweather Princess" wrote in message m... well, not my own trainer but her collegue. My training sessions are up for renewal and now i'm tempted to switch to him cuz he's funny and hot...hmmm....wonder if this is a good idea... |

No, it's not a good idea. 1) If you like your current trainer, and are seeing the results you want, you should continue with her. Just cause this other trainer is hot, doesn't mean he'll train you as well. he's been there as long as she has and i know he's a good trainer. I see him everytime i go to the gym, so he's booked day all the time basically. 2) Trainers are like health care providers. If they have a professional relationship with you, they should not be having an intimate relationship with you. yeah i was really just joking around. Are you kidding? i'm not going to renew my training session! those things are expensive and seriously, I don't have anything i need to target yet, unless you count "fat rolls everywhere." and all the excercises my traininers guides me through now, well, i can do it on my own with a "SHAPE" magazine subscription. So if what you really want to do is date this guy, then you have ample opportunity to get to know him in the gym. And since he won't be YOUR personal trainer, he'll be free to go out with you if it turns out he's as attracted to you and you are to him. He is pretty hot and my trainer was nice enough to introduce us. We talked a little bit and I made him laugh several times, and vice versa. Altho I'm not hideously ugly, I'm not confident enough to date a physical trainer! So...we'll see...maybe this will serve as extra motivation for me to visit the gym. |

Paying your trainer to spend time with you because you have a crush on him... I do not think it is a good deal. i dunno. i feel like i'm paying for the company anyways. I mean sure they guide you through the excercises and they kill you, but it's really more of a motivator than anything else. Like i said in a previous post, SHAPE magazine has pull-out index cards every month with gym excercises you can follow. It costs about $1000 for 20 training sessions at my gym. Since I plan to be losing weight for at least another...50 weeks, what am i to do? buy 50 training sessions just so I can have the motivation? i think all the talk about "motivation comes from within" on this forum has laid that question to rest. I can use that $2k towards my annual wardrobe budget -- a better motivator. |
