Hi Guys for the past 4 months I've put on 4kgs

I've surely cut my diet to half.. but still that's not helping.. why
is my weight growing even when I've cut down in eating?

It may not be how much you are eating. Your problem could center around
what you are eating. Can you give us a list of what you are eating along
with portion sizes?

Perhaps you are drinking a lot of high-calorie beverages. Maybe you need to
get some exercise.

A good idea would be to buy a scale and some measuring cups and spoons.
Measure everything you eat and keep a log. That way you can troubleshoot to
see what the problem is.

Diet control is not a mystery at all. It is science, since calories
count. All you need to do is determine how many calories you use per
day. You can do this exactly, not some wild guess. There are 3500 cal
in a pound, so if you are gaining a pound over a period of time....say
10 days, you have overeaten EXACTLY 350 calories on av. per day. This
also takes into account your present average BMI, exercise level,
amount of sleep, carbs vs. fat vs. protein and all the rest. Now, this
is actual body weight, not water retention or a faulty scales. You
simply MUST count calories and know where you are if you want to
tackle the problem scientifically. dkw

Assume you were eating 2500 calories per day and noticed you were putting on
weight, over time. Then you cut your consumption to 1250 per day. That can
mess with your metabolism such that your body will start burning less
calories because it "thinks" its starving. Then you start to eat more,
perhaps, but not a lot more. Maybe 1700 calories per day. Your body will
start to store fat again, even though you would have lost weight if you had
cut down to 1700 calories in the first place.

Really, if you want to succeed at this, you ought to gather data, work with
the group here and post some information. How tall are you? What do you
weigh? What is your target weight? How many calories do you eat per day?

Weigh and measure all that you eat with a scale, measuring cups, etc. Keep a
food log for at least a month -- its a huge help.

"If you continue to do the same things in the same way, your results will be
the same." (I'm quoting somebody here, more-or-less, but don't remember who.
Einstein?)

By the way, search out _The Hackers Diet_ online. Its a free e-book and
program with which many people have had a lot of success.

Hey, as someone who is 65 lbs lighter than I used to be....don't kid
yourself. You are NOT eating half of what you were. Its calories in,
calories out. So...10 lb in 4 months, 30 lb a year, forecast that one
out a few years and yikes!

Start keeping a food diary, and weighing portions so you "get" the
picture of what the recommended serving is vs. what you are actually
eating. Steer yourself away from the fats and refined carbs, and up
your intake of fruits, veggies, and whole grains. Drink water (i.e.
ditch the hi calorie soda, or juices). Start exercising more. Weigh
yourself frequently. Get rid of the junk in your house to reduce
temptation.

The biggest fight in all of this is to stop kidding yourself. Once you
figure out what it takes, you'll look back and give your head a shake.
I would have sworn to you it was a big mystery why I had a hard time
losing weight. It was all about denial, hitched to really, really not
wanting to have to change.

You've sure NOT cut your diet in half. You just think you have. Post what
you eat in a typical day. What do you do for exercise?
