Default LA Weight Loss Forum

Hi Everyone,

I've created this forum for a place for people to gather and discuss
weight loss successes, tips, for people looking for inspiration, and to
pretty much discuss anything concerning weight loss. This was started
out of a lack of user friendly message boards for LA Weight Loss.

There are no advertisements, no rules, we're a fun bunch of girls...
come and join us!

http://www.lawlforum.com

Cheers!

Lindsay

Update:

More plan info posted now at http://www.lawlforum.com/

Check it out! I had my first consultation last night and I've started
the take off phase this morning. I posted the prices and info on the
take off phase. Sign up and stick around, more details on the full
program coming tomorrow after my 2nd consultation.

Cheers!

Lindsay

Is it a thinly veiled advertising front to help people spend
money?

Not at all, just wanted to do this to start a support group for people.
It's much like this newsgroup, however I'm not a large corporation,
and I'm NOT making money

Go see for yourself.

Cheers,

Lindsay

Already looked, its purpose seemed to be oriented toward
supporting a commercial enterprise so I had to ask.

I'd hardly call it spamming. I've merely created a forum where I can
document my WL journey and also to have a place where people on or
interested in the program can discuss it. I have a couple of friends
who are members and are doing this on their own and they're going to be
printing out all the details I post so they can do it on their own.
I'm not trying to recruit anyone, I JUST started the program. There
are no ads, there are no links to other sites, there are no rules.
Just a place to document and for people to talk about it. That's all.

Cheers,

Lindsay

Hi Lindsay,

I congratulate you on your efforts to lose weight and applaud you for
picking a plan that you hopefully can stick to. My wife does LA Weight
Loss and likes it a lot, except she gets bored with the boneless
skinless chicken in all it's varieties.

What puzzles me is this: LA Weight Loss's program is only mildly low
carb, and that's being kind of generous. The two daily servings of
starch, the multiple servings of high glycemic fruit, and othe things
really keep this from being anything like a traditional low carb
approach (Atkins' Diet Rev or Protein Power), or even a relaxed one
like South Beach. It's really more like the Zone, which can be very
loosely construed as being carb controlled (30 or 40% carb is still a
lot less than a traditional low fat diet afterall). So, my question to
you is, why fish for people for your site in waters that are bare of LA
Weight Loss practicioners? There have been a few questions about the
program, since they are pretty secretive about what you actually eat on
it until you sign up, but I don't think there is anyone in ASDLowCarb
who is doing the program.

My wife likes the program, but she finds the marketing approach to be
very high pressure to buy their bars and stuff. We did a little
comparison of the bars they sell with bars you can get on the open
market, nutrition composition and price. We found that you can buy bars
that are pretty much the same thing (and high carb at that) one at a
time and save a little money over what they charge for a box of their
"special bars." If you buy in bulk, you can save a lot. If you get over
the internet, even more. So, you can expect people to be a little
skeptical, largely due to the high pressure sales tactics. There is a
reason why they will refund half your fee if you show up for every
"consultation". Because the odds are, you will buy extremely high
margin items that more than make the difference up.

Good luck with the diet. My wife, as I said, likes it and does very
well with it. She kept all her material from when she was a paying
customer, so she can now do it without them, which she finds to make it
easier, not harder. But my wife is a superstar and the most
organized/disciplined person I have ever met.

Hi, just joined LA today and although the main complaint is cost I do feel
the support or the regular 3x a week is the way to go.
How are you doing on the program.

Hi Hopeful,

Congrats on starting your diet. It is not even remotely Low Carb, by
any stretch of the imagination, so I wonder what you are doing here.
I've already asked lonsie, and she didn't reply.

I fully support you in the changes you are trying to make, but unless
you are low carb, I have nothing specifically useful for you, and it is
likely that no one else on this group does either.

-Hollywood, who wonders why people wander.
