My two-year anniversary
Today marks two years and two days since I made lifetime. I figured
this would be a good time to sit back and reflect on the process as a whole. First, some stats: Total lost: About 20kg/44lbs (depending on the day) Time taken: 70 weeks Average loss per week: 0.3kg/0.7lbs - yes, I'm a slow loser! Yes, it did take a while, but it was worth it! Here are the good bits about being at goal for two years: - I can get out the clothes I wore last summer and know that they'll still fit. - I can be almost guaranteed that there'll be something that fits me in standard cloths shops. - I don't get constant indigestion. - My blood pressure is back down into normal ranges. - I don't wobble (much!). And the minuses: - I'll never eat real cheesecake without feeling slightly guilty! - Having to explain to people who never knew me "fat" why I eat healthy food most of the time, and why I really can't have another cookie/slice of cake/bite of chocolate. The pluses definitely outweigh the minuses. How have I maintained for this length of time? I eat pretty much the same most days, with one or two days a week where I eat a bit more. My standard menu works out at about 18-20 points per day, so I think I average out at 22-24 points per day over the week. I do try to take special occasions into account, so I will eat a bit less if I know there's something coming up. It's all about balance. I don't journal anymore, but I will occasionally count points in my head if it's been a particularly unusual day. I walk 30 minutes 4-5 times a week too. Exercise is not something that I *love* to do, but I do need to do it for my mental and physical well-being. I've made sure that it fits into my day, and I try to avoid the "I don't wanna" excuse. No, I have never quite made my personal goal, but I'm not really too concerned. I'm maintaining around my current weight without too much effort and I'm comfortable here. Besides, all my clothes fit! Thanks for reading if you made it this far. I never would have gotten here without the support of this newsgroup. I know all you "losers" out there will get to goal, and I'll be here to cheer when you do! -- Julie. 93.5/73.6/74 (WW)/72 (Personal) kg 205.7/161.9/162.8 (WW)/158 (Personal) lb Here's our FAQ: http://www.didian.com/asdww/ and welcome notice: http://www.geocities.com/welcomenotice/index.html |

Good to see another of us hitting the two year mark. I have been having a
bit easier time of it just lately, after my post two year struggle there during September, and for a while before that. I am not seeing the 159 that I used to wish for either, but my clothes fit too, not to mention pretty much any chair, and all kinds of other things that used to be out of range. -- Lesanne 365/16/164 "JulieB" wrote in message ... attitude, too, about being satisfied with your current weight. Thanks for that. Congratulations on keeping the weight OFF!
