Shock of shocks, but this stuff costs a king's ransom. DW (also LC)
picked up a pound for $11 today at an Indian food store in
Manhattan...

Anyone know how to make this from almonds, without it turning to
butter? Do you mill it?

Eeeek. Don't you have a Whole Foods nearby? The price is NOTHING
like that IIRC.

There is a Whole Foods right up the street from me, and I have shopped there
for YEARS, but I have never once seen almond flour there! :-(

However their freshly made almond butter is wonderful!

In my experimentations I've found you can make a somewhat chunky almond
"meal" in a food processor, but if you try to grind it as fine as flour you
end up with almond butter instead.

As others have already posted, I also use a coffee grinder to make almond
flour.
