Default Been lurking for a while...thought I would introduce myself.....

Hey there! I've been coming here off and on for a couple months now
just reading the posts. I thought I would introduce myself so that if
I wanted to post/reply yall wouldn't be thinking, "uh...who is she?!"

I'm 33, married, 3 babies(6yo girl, 5yo boy, 3yo girl) and started
Atkins(or low carb if you will) in May. The summer months have been
hard for me(I am a major fruit gal), but have managed to lose 35
pounds(WooHooo!!). I have about 95 (EEK!) to go...but I am totally
comfortable with it taking time...I am doing the LC thing for life,
for sure! I got the Atkins book last Christmas from my Mom and it
just kind of floated around my living room for about 5 months and I
had a break in the day and I sat down and was paging through it and
was like, "OMG! This totally makes sense!!) For years I had
heard(falsely) about the Atkin's No veggie/no fruit diet and thought,
"never would I do that! That's not healthy!" But it is all so clear
to me now! LOL! As I have told my naysayers...."Uh...not many people
eat 3 cups of veggies on the typical american diet...what could be
unhealthy about that?!"
I read the Atkin's book and it has just made me a believer! I am on
to reading Neanderthin...although he is really hardcore...anyone read
it?
Anyway...I could go on and on...it is something I am passionate about
lately...not that I haven't had slips...most of the time I skip
whatever goodies other people seem to be having...on rare occassions I
have endulged....but, I go right back to the LC thing I have become
accustomed to.

Anyway...thanks for reading...if you see me posting, now you know who
I am!

Hi, Lisa. Welcome, and congrats on your weight loss to date. Nothing wrong
with slow and steady. It's great that you are viewing low-carb as a way of
eating for life, not a "diet." That's what I'm doing, too.

You must be busy with those children! I have 3 also but a bit older (11,
13, 17).

Good luck, and hang around here... there is lots of good information and
support.
