I have just started WW and see no problems with the meals at home. We eat
out about 4 times a week.

Any hints or web sites for restaurants. We will be going to Erie next week
and that is the nearest Olive Garden to us and we always eat there.

At Olive Garden I get soup and salad...Minestrone soup and no cheese or
croutons in the salad...No bread sticks...They only offer a low fat dressing
which I ask for on the side and only dip my fork in...I will bring my own
dressing next time...In time you will find that almost any restaurant will
customize most items...Sometimes it means you will only eat half the portion
but I find it almost always works...Check out
http://www.dwlz.com/restaurants.html... And in fact the whole site is well
done and informative ...Welcome aboard...Your journey begins...GG

Welcome to the group.

Here are a couple more sites that list restaurants info:
http://www.dietfacts.com/fastfood.asp
http://www.healthydiningfinder.com/site/
http://www.calorieking.com/

They are limited in info but it should get you started. Eating out 4 times a
week may prove hard for you to keep to the WW plan. Watch out for hidden
oils and outragous portions. Cut your meal in half before taking your first
bite. That will help limit the amount of food you consume. I find that I can
eat out 1 dinner and 1 lunch (salad place) a week and still lose something.
Weeks that I eat out more I usually gain.

I forgot, get a to go container and put in what you don't want to eat at the
meal first off and set it aside, My DH takes it to the car immediately so
you don't go ahead and eat it, Lee

Hello Toni,

Nice to meet you. Gary gave you a great link......

www.dwlz.com

Eating out is challenging, but as Lee said, don't be afraid to ask for
changes or stuff on the side! That is the only way that YOU can maintain
control over the situation. Be aware of veggies that are cooked in butter
or sauces.

I just recently tried Applebee's and have to say, it was pretty good.
I usually don't have any problems in restaurants or eating out becuase I do
the FLEX plan. I plan my points accordingly and since I started WW, I have
never allowed myself to get into "DIET MODE".............that is a sure
recipe for disaster! You need to learn to eat in the real world and that
means eating out.

If you plan ahead, you can will see how easy is can really be.

Many restaurants have their nutritional info online and you can look up the
actual items and work out the points for them.
