Default #50 ....OMG!!!....... GONE FOREVER!!!!!!

Well today was a monumental day. Despite the ongoing knee pain that we
are working on and a bladder infection I came out of the doctors office
a happy woman. I have officially lost #50 pounds. 410 to exactly 360 in
a bit over 5 weeks!!!! Im estatic to say the least. I lost 7 of it in
the last 8 days. Gawd I feel good even in pain!!!!!!!!

The doc told me people who keeping walking with arthritis do better in
the long run rather than not walking on it. I ahve continued to walk
despite to horrific pain. I toough it out during the day and take a
Vicodin to sleep as I am all over the bed at night without narcotics. I
told him I hired a personal trainer and he released me for exercise on
March 14th. I told him I was going to do weights and resistance
training. He said a good thing to do for the kneee is try to build up
my quads and do some free weights with my feet down by ankle. I'm not
sure what he was talking about there but the guy I hired will. He said
something about it takes the weight off the knee but strengthens the
leg. He also suggested using 2 walking sticks like I am cross country
sking when I am out walking. It helps your weight not to shift so bad
and is good exercise for the upper body. He said he uses them all the
time. One of the orthopods hikes into the mountains here and swears by
2 walking stricks too.

Anyway, no real bad news. Life is good!!!!!!

Congratulations, Laureen. It sounds to me like you've taken this
surgery and turned it into a tool to help yourself, which is a great
way to be. I look forward to hearing about your future successes.

Good for you! I see a PT once a week, for an hour each session. I
find it's great, very motivating and she gets me working longer,
faster and harder than I ever thought I could. I hope you find it
helps you as much as mine helps me.

Yeah you mindless ****! I take a half of a Vicodin lately to get a
measily 4 hours of sleep because the arthritis is so bad in my knee
that it keeps me up all night if I don't.

I'm on for 3 days a week M,W, F at 10am. I'm hoping this will help me
since the walking in the past week gets to me with the bad knee. I
still try to walk though. I grin an bear all day but have to dope up at
night it is so bad. I'm generally tough but the pain at night began to
wear me down.
I am so motivated to get this done. I so want to relax just a bit later
on and go " There its done" and just work at being careful to not
regain. Everyone who reaches goal usually gains a small amount back but
nothing like it is now if you're careful. I am a rule follower so I
will succeed this time.
Thanks Aramanth!

If your knee is so painful has the Dr.talked to you about a possible knee
replacement? That would get rid of the pain once and for all.
