I decided to try one of the Atkins baking mixes tonight. I made the banana
nut muffins. I only ate one but now about 2 hours later I feel very bloated.
Has anyone else had this happen?
This is not a pleasant feeling.

You may be reacting to one of the sugar alcohols or other items used
in low carb goodies. A lot of LC cakes/muffins have maltitol, and
people can have gastric distress when certain levels are consumed.

I didn't even think about the manitol. I will have to check the package.
Thanks,

Muffins are not low carb and never will be, no matter how much you wish they
would be. If it's a muffin, it's not low carb. If it's low carb, it's
something other than a muffin.

Even though this has been broken down and spelled out for you, it will still
probably be beyond your comprehension.

Yes, I got it incredibly badly from the Atkins shake mix. I've never had a
problem with the Atkins ready to drink or other shake mixes. Someone else
mentioned a similar problem. You might take a look at the ingrediants list
and see if there's something there that you don't consume in comparable
products.

"If it's low carb, it's something other than a muffin."

Wrong...a low carb muffin is still a muffin....and still low carb.

And just so you know, I am neither fat nor stupid...just not as rigid
as you in my culinary definitions.

If it looks like a muffin, and tastes (somewhat) like a muffin, then
it is indeed a muffin...low carb or not.

Obviously, you've never seen Debbie Cusick's blueberry muffin recipe,
nor Don Wiss's coconut almond muffin recipe. They contain no carby
ingredients and are definitely muffins.

Lowcarb foods that have similar names to high carb foods aren't
automatically high carb foods, no matter how often you assert that
they are.
