US vs. Canadian Nutritional Labels
Well, after my little dilemma with the Advantage bars, I have also realized
that the US & CDN Nutrition Labels are in fact different especially on Dietary Fibre. When I told Atkins customer service in the States that my bar and box said there is 0gm of Dietary Fibre, she thought that it was most likely a typo. But then if you compare the Subway wraps Nutrition Label, it is also different from the American one. Here is a link that you can compare. Scroll down to Tips for success and you can compare the US and Cdn net carbs. Interesting. Cdn Label makes it have more net carbs. I know that we have some different food laws and stuff, but I didn't think the labels would make such a difference in the same products. http://atkins.com/about/atkins-nutri...ubwaymenu.html Peace. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Perhaps the Canadian ranch dressing is from a different manufacturer than the American ranch dressing. -- AF Yes that is the more obvious answer. At the same time, all franchises and chains make you adhere to strict headquarter guidelines, recipes and products. Remember, consistency is key for those places, that's why when you eat a Big Mac in Vancouver, it's going to taste the same as the Big Mac in Seattle. And yet, the fries that come with it will come with mayo and vinegar instead of ketchup. Even in franchise there are cultural differences. If you have ever had an Oreo sold in western Canada then you know that they bear only passing resemblance to American Oreos dispite being made by the same company. |
