Howdy neighbor! Weeeecheeeeta!
Lived there from 94-03. Going home to nicer people, cheaper living, better
medical support, family.

.......going home......

Today, I got the real stunner - I got back my latest liver function test
results (AST & ALT enzyme).

Completely NORMAL!!!!!! Not only normal but right in the middle of
the normal range! My hepatitis has gone from life threatining to FINE?

Congratulations, that's great! My husband was almost your age and
weight, and he was starting to have liver abnormalities, as well as a
bunch of other problems which are now all gone after 6 months on low
carb. So I wonder how his liver is doing now? I think it's time for
him to head to the doctor soon for a checkup!

See ya,

Weight Watchers

IMO, no, unless you followed their diet plan, which you didn't
mention...

An AMA paper

Yes! As long as the low carb aspect isn't minimized or ridiculed or
anything like that (what I've sadly come to expect lately.)

Liver biopsy

Well, if your liver weren't originally so bad, I'd say why do this?
But it was pretty bad, you say, so perhaps it might be good to just
get it over with and confirmed so you don't have to worry later on so
much. Unless it's so unpleasant it's like a root canal with no
anesthetic or something... Also, if your doctor is going to do a
paper on you, IMO the paper is doo-doo without one, unfortunately.

Days with no food

I don't know if that's such a good idea. Your body needs nutrients
and protein. You really should eat something a couple times a day
every day, or else you're not going to get everything out of your body
you could - it's full potential. Plus, it seems to be carrying the
diet thing to an extreme that you cannot possibly carry on forever;
for example, calcium is needed for a huge array of body functions, but
where does it get it when you're not eating? Where does your brain
get its protein? If you're not careful, the answer is your bones and
your muscles. This tactic to me points the way to possible relapse
later on. IMO, moderation is the key, especially if you're getting
closer to your goal weight and exercising a lot.

Abnormal brain function under 125g carbs

That's complete poop. I haven't been this sharp in years! I was
constantly in this fuzzy world where I had a hard time thinking. Now
on low carb, ok, my short term memory's not exactly back at teenage
levels, but my head is so much clearer, and my mood swings are nearly
gone! In fact, when I have a high-carb day, my head swims!

See ya,

Kristen
