Peanuts, and anything else that fits in your personal carb/calorie count for
loss, can be eaten on a low carb diet. -- Peace, Pen -- Pawbreakers - The Candy for Cats! http://www.pawbreakers.com "Peter Strömberg" wrote in message . 4... You can eat nuts in moderation, but rather not peanuts as they are not true nuts but really a grain legume (like beans and peas). -- Peter Strömberg (55.6N 13.0E) C2K2 C2K3 ISCCIV02 ISCCIV03 ISCCIV04 |

"evercyn" wrote in message m... Can you eat almonds, peanuts and pistachios on a low-carb diet? Some authors don't like peanuts in particular, but I ate lots of nuts (peanuts, cashews, almonds, hazel nuts, pecans, macadamias, pine nuts) during my weight loss phase. Now during maintenance, my breakfast granola is made from 50% chopped nuts. Nuts are *very* filling for me and last for a long time. Interesting thing is that I always considered nuts an abuse food when I was doing low fat. I ate too much of them (primarily peanuts) if I had them at all. Now I seem to fill up quickly on them, even though I never tire of the taste. Good food in my book. Alan |

Peanuts are not true nuts (they're legumes), so have somewhat higher carbs. All nuts are high in calories, though, so watch your portions. For me, what I can grab in a handful is very close to an ounce -- I weighed handfuls several times. -- jamie ) "There's a seeker born every minute." |

I agree and certainly eat a lot of them too....shelled pistachios, dry
roasted planters, and slivered almonds.... thoroughly enjoyable and probably my biggest carb culprit....but, I keep on 'showing' and not gaining weight, and, to me, that is what is important. Unfortunately, I do not seem to fill up on them.... Joe On Sat, 23 Oct 2004 11:19:22 -0600, "Alan Wright" wrote: "evercyn" wrote in message om...
