Default Question about Low Carb Diets

Hi all,
I have a question about the low carb diets. I'm planning on following a low
carb diet. I have bought foods with low carbs and I need to know if you
know how many calories a day you are suppose to have, how much fat in one
serving that you can have and how many carbs a day can I have in order to
lose weight. I am 4 foot 7 and I wanna lose somewhere between 7 to 10
pounds. Can someone help me!!! Thanks in advance!!!!

Default Question about Low Carb Diets

There are many alternative low carb diets.

IMHO Your best starting place is to pick up a copy of Dr. Atkins New Diet
Revolution (DANDR).

Atkins does not count calories. However, I feel counting calories helps
identify compliance problems.

I would keep carbs under 50. A newbie doing Atkins "Induction" is supposed
to do 20.

Fat reduces appetite and turns down the body's calorie thermostat. Have
lots of fat. 60% to 70% fat by calories works well.

Default Question about Low Carb Diets

At first, don't worry about calories. Just don't eat any flour or rice
products--bread, pasta, rolls, cookies, crackers, rice etc. Get the few carbs
you need from veggies and fruit. You should lose the weight in two weeks.
Fats will help keep the hunger monster at bay so buy lots of nuts and add
extra olive oil to your salads. Cheese and steaks are good too. Have fun
watching the weight go!!

Default Question about Low Carb Diets

Investigate the different plans out there and choose the one that will make
the most sense to your lifestyle.
Here's a site that compares several plans:

http://www.lowcarb.ca/atkins-diet-and-low-carb-plans/

If you start out thinking that this is only a diet to lose a few pounds,
you'll only gain it back plus more if you go back to how you are eating now
once you've lost the weight. Choose something that you can follow for the
rest of your life.
