Default Officially 20 lbs lighter!

Today I FINALLY hit the 20 lbs lost mark! It took me 4 months to the DAY to do
it, but I DID it! Only 60 lbs to go! WHOOHOO! I am SO happy I decided to
change my eating to the Atkins way, and I'm NOT planning to go back to the way I
was eating before! I think I can do it this time, too, because before, I never
paid any attention to the nutritional value of the foods I was eating and there
didn't seem to be any noticeable correlation between the diets and the way I
FELT, healthwise. There is a MAJOR difference THIS time, though, and I don't
want to go back to feeling the way I did, in body OR spirit! Viva le Atkins!

I took some photos to mark the day, but they didn't show anything dramatically
different from the ones I took on 8/25 (mostly due to the fact that I was sick
most of September and didn't exercise, I suspect), so I'm going to wait until I
see more visible progress before I post updated ones. I DID take some closeup
shots for my Mom :-) There WAS one rather, um, "interesting" shot, though. I
was just going to get a blocking shot -- you know, test shots to see what the
camera was seeing as far as where it was positioned vs where I was standing. I
forgot to set the timer, though, so it took the photo just as I started to walk
away. What it got was a mostly ASS shot, slightly profiled just enough to show I
have CURVES. Frankly, I think it's the best photo of me that I've seen all YEAR
:-) It really DOES show some progress in a very candid manner :-) I promptly
cropped some of the extraneous background stuff from it and sent it to my
brother-in-law, who never misses an opportunity to tell me what a great ass he
thinks I have, regardless of it's size, tone or lack thereof :-) You can bet
I'll be getting a thank-you email on THAT one ;-) Don't worry, my sister is
merely amused by his infatuation with my anatomy.

I agree. I think it became a 'habit' by about then. truly a WOL for me. I
have 3 males in this house with me (4 if you count the cat) and they eat
crap half the time. but it doesn't bother me to have it here because I don't
want any of it.

Congratulations, Saffire! That's terrific! I know what you mean
about there being a MAJOR difference this time. That's how I
feel. I know what will happen if I eschew this WOE when I reach
my goal, the same thing that has happened before. I am done with
that.

YAY! Saffire! Way to go. You are inspiring to us, sticking with this
WOE and knowing it makes you feel better, even when the pounds aren't
disappearing at a fast rate. Slow and steady wins the race and will
make for a permanent weight loss, I "lurk" and have only posted a
couple of times, I just wanted to congratulate you because you are so
positive and supportive to everyone. Way to go girl!!
