Default NEW but reading

First off I have read Atkins and The new one. HI my name is Maralyn
and I would like to share my story. Sounds like a 12 step beginning
but here it goes.

Obesity and diabetis run in my family. My mother and older sister by
8 years are very overweight so this set the stage for my young eating
habits. When I readh teenage years it was the typical yoyo . I
managed to keep my weight pretty undercontrol for a long time.
However one time I was 220 lbs and went to 115. People told me at
115 I looked just as bad at 220. Both weights were hell and I was
miserable. I also have had the purge thing to add to my list. Well
what really changed my thinking and scared me is my sister is now
legally blind, from detached retinas. She was diabetic and I guess
the sugar that she did not control did not help but dont know if it
was the cause.

I have been on a low carb diet for 2 weeks started the first week by
really just cutting down because I was so out of control with carbs.
Must have been eating 400-500 a day. The first week I went to under
100 , the second I started really the induction but was at 40 so This
week will be the real INDuction, which now I am total prepared for. I
feel I have the rest of my life so I need to drop the carbs slowly in
the beginning.

I love the post here especially for Roger Z. I am going to do this
100 percent and be a low carber for life if it works well for me.
THanks I will be asking questions.
