OT - Update on Jake
For the first time this morning, Jake ventured out from under a piece of
furniture to see me. Since he has been here, this is the first time he came out from under a piece of furniture in my presence. He finally started to eat over the weekend (picky cat - went through three different kinds of cat food and only likes stale deli-cat). I don't think he will ever be really outgoing but he is starting to show a little personality and affection. Major progress. j |

OT - Update on Jake
Glad to see Jake is feeling more comfortable in his new surroundings.
There must be something good about this Deli-cat. It's the brand my picky eater prefers, too. Beverly "Julianne" wrote in message news:Kij5c.3003$F91.2194@lakeread05... Glad to see he is coming out of his shell! What did he do to show
affection? Did he rub up against you? "Julianne" wrote in message news:Kij5c.3003$F91.2194@lakeread05... For the first time this morning, Jake ventured out from under a piece of furniture to see me. OT - Update on Jake
"Julianne" wrote in message news:4tD5c.3244$F91.2428@lakeread05... He actually had a very good day, yesterday. He approaches my outstretched hand so I can reach his ears and then does a little cat dance so I can pet him in all the right places. The funniest thing that I have never seen in a cat is when he lays on his back and exposes his stomach to me so I can pet it. I have never had a cat that liked to have his stomach pet. ***That is pretty great... One of my cats does that too. She will lay on her back in some sun by a window and look at Hubby to pet her. She likes him over me.. but that is ok, she was with him before I was. Later in the day, I tried the same routine but this time, I left him high and dry and went to lay on my bed. He couldn't stand it after a few minutes and hopped up with me. After some nervous activity, he laid down and went to sleep. I had to work and when I got up, he went right back to his place under the bed. ***I can't sleep with cats in the bed. I am a very light sleeper and their movements wake me up too much. My 8 mos old liked to attack my feet as they move under the sheets when I sleep the few times I've forgotten to kick them out. In the middle of the night, he obviously went exploring. He woke me twice - once when he found the piano and another time when he jumped into a drawer I had left open in my armoir. I used to deliberately leave one open for Sam the psycho cat so maybe Jake the replacement cat smells sam? ***He probably does. OH! AS I sit here at the keyboard, Jake has emerged from the bedroom and is looking around the living room. Very nice progress. ***Cool j |

What is it with cats and pianos? :-) I don't know but years ago, I had a cat who loved it. Would play until you made her quit. I also had a dog in days gone by when televisions had metallic buttons on the bottom for each channel. The dog (Col. Waldo Wasir) would drag his wet nose along them changing the channels. Eventually, they would wet and the TV wouldn't work until they dried again. j OH! AS I sit here at the keyboard, Jake has emerged from the bedroom and is looking around the living room.
