excuse because like you said, you LIKE that fast food.

Of course I like fast food. It tastes good. But I do realize that
its not the best food for a person.

But also I think we need to consider that people probably have
different ideas in terms of dietary habits.
A lot of people try to eat less calories and do more cardio to lose
weight (or keep weight off).
I do not have a problem with weight, so I am not too concerned with
the AMOUNT of calories I take in.
I probably do need to take in "cleaner" (whatever that means) calories
and more protein....since I would like to gain weight. (I do drink
protein shakes when I am home)

I should have mentioned that earlier.

I understand that cheese omelets arent the greatest, but what about
scrambled eggs?
I know that the yolk has the most fat, but also has the more protein.

I heartily agree! It's only a buck, and it actually tastes good,
with, usually (here in NYC), nice big fresh fruit chunks! They also
give you a little packet of granola to mix with it.

Pity their fruit and nut salad is such a rip-off, for the price.

When you become serious, you'll find a way. Your excuses are

had a health scare because of your poor eating, you'd find there are
lots of ways to do it, but until you actually address your bad eating
habits, they will continue. Sorry. Wt. control and healthy eating is
hard work. Of course you like high-fat fast food better. So you know
it isn't good for you and you have to be tougher. I am tough. Don't
you understand that you can learn to like food...good food? Your food
preferences are based mainly on what you grew up on. Some people eat
rats, dogs, fish eyeballs, moose noses, sheeps testicles and raw seal
livers for God's sake....and they enjoy the stuff. Surely you can
suffer through vegetables, fruit and other nutritious, healthy food
and make the switch. dkw- Hide quoted text -

That was directed at tfor, not Prisoner. I pressed the wrong button.

Good advice, all the same. I actually like fruits and veggies and
other "good foods"...just too lazy, I guess, to bother with
preparation/cooking...much easier to pay my $7 for an instant salad or
something.

Heck, that's easy. Get yourself a whey protein supplement. It might
not do the trick, but it can't hurt and the protein powder I use costs
like $0.25 a serving.

If you need the calories then eggs are fine. Heck, if you need the
calories then cheese omelets probably aren't such a bad idea. Make
your mom proud and get some vegetables to go with them.

Thats why I also would like some suggestions on what I can eat at
those places I mentioned.
When my coworkers want to go there, I go with them, so I get what I
usually get.
Maybe you guys have better suggestions from those places.

You can get decent stuff just about anywhere you go. You just need to learn
a bit about nutrition and quit rationalizing your laziness.

As far as I know, all the FF places offer a salad these days? Get it with
grilled chicken breast and you're golden. Baked potato topped with the
chili at Wendy's. There is always something at least reasonably healthy.

Lynne A

Top the potato with chili? That chili has about 9000 grams of fat in it. You
can get chicken breast and a plain baked potato at Wendy's and do fine.

"The more protein?" You need to start reading and learn something about
nutrition. This DKW person sounds like a fatophobe, but egg whites are pure
protein. You need to eat a lot of them, but they are a perfect protein
source. I would not be afraid of a few yolks as long as the rest of your
diet is good.

Uhh, no. Per Wendy's website, for a small chili.

220 calories
6 grams fat
2.5 sat fat
25 grams CHO
5 grams fiber
17 grams protein

Perfectly acceptable

I've had the chili and I'm willing to bet that the web site info is being a
bit "kind" when it comes to fat content. :-) If I were watching my fat
intake closely, their chili still would not be high on my list of "to eats."
:-)

Still and all-he's not watching fat intake, right? Plus, the potato has
almost none. Dress it only with the chili and it's reasonable. Not as good
as the salad with grilled chicken, but it is something different for a
change of pace. Notice I did say *reasonably healthy*, too. I prefer to
eat what I cook so I know exactly what's in it, but it doesn't sound like
that's gonna happen with the OP. Working with what I've got hereLOL
