Thanks for the link. I really enjoy hiking (and I'm going there too
soon). DH doesn't, so I might have to abandon him for a while. Then
again, if it's 100 degrees out I might not want to hike either!

It's really not that bad in a dry heat. I did some hiking in Death
Valley, and I didn't find it unbearable - and I'm not a person who does
terribly well in extreme heat.

Ditto. I loved Death Valley. It was only in the 90's when I was there
though. I'm looking forward to going back. Our next trip our there we'll
probably stay at one of the places in DV and head to Vegas for a day instead
of the other way around

Good idea! I love Death Valley ... in the spring. I'm not sure I'd be
able to take it in the summer. It's a beautiful place, though. I'd
like to go back and drive through Titus Canyon again - this time with a
camera.

We were there in Spring 2005 when it was all in bloom. I have a ton of pics
of the flowers. In one day we climbed a bit at Hell's Gate, hiked through
Mosaic Canyon, took a walk along the salt creek and hiked out towards the
dunes but definitely not all of the way out to them.
