Default foods that call out #2

What foods did you have to banish from the house when you started. Those
foods that cause you issues and you knew it? Have you been able to let any
back in? Do you know why they were an issue? Do you know why this might
have changed? Lee

For both DH and I it's any kind of fatty snack cracker. Wasa crisps are
fine in the house and eaten in moderation.

Even the pita thing was more a vehicle for Laughing Cow cheese and a few
other spreads (hummus, etc).

Unfortunately for me I never know what will end up being a trigger food
other than good chocolate and chips. For example, I haven't touched ice
cream in months and it is in the freezer. I have some WW or low pt ice
cream treats for me but I mean the higher fat stuff in the 1/2 gallon
cartons. Cheese can be a trigger food though again I have several kinds
right now that I haven't touched. I have cut back a lot on baking. The
cookies I baked yesterday were the first I've baked since Christmas. I
gave two thirds to the students I tutor and kept 12 at home for my
husband and son. I ate one small one of the 12 but the rest don't tempt
me. Before being serious about WW I would eat cheese and crackers
almost every day when I came home from work, a bad habit. Now I have a
variety of two point choices.

I am finally back on course for the last 10 days or so and the key for me
seems to be leaving out chocolate. I would be a bit silly about baked goods
too but because I have to make them myself (non wheat eater) I just don't
make them at present. I was worried that I might have to cut out wine too,
but I've found I can have a little as a spritzer and then have water, it is
the drinking I like, not necessarily what is in the glass :-)
I used to eat a *lot* of cheese, particularly as cheese toasties, now
without the ready supply of bread, (need to have it made) and knowing how
heavy the cheese is I prefer to leave it. I have found a cheese snack
packaged in 40g lots that is 3 points but worth it as a portioned mini meal
for me. I couldn't trust myself with a block of mature cheese like that :-)

When I started this time, I knew better than to banish anything. There are
foods that I don't keep because they are rarely eaten, that I like a lot. I
usually choose healthy foods, so that is what is in the house for the most
part. I don't keep candy, because I only eat it on rare occasions (other
than my dark chocolate). I don't keep Fritos, although I like them. At the
rate I would be willing to eat the little salty grease balls they would go
stale way before we ate a bag of them. I once in a blue moon buy one of
those single serving bags (which will last about a week).

Default foods that call out #2

Where do I start????? LOL!!!

Bread, Bread, Bread......um.....anything BREAD!!! any kind of
BREAD!!!.....hehehe
Any thing Deep Fried!!!!Fries, Haddock, Halibut, Breaded Shrimp, chicken
wings!!!
Fast food was my biggest killer - McDonald's, Harvey's, Wendy's, Burger
King, Swiss Chalet (I love the skin of the chicken and fries!!!)
Italian cold cuts, proscutto, salami, mortadella, cappicola, Italian hot
sausage!!! cacciatore!!!!
Cheese!!! ANY KIND OF CHEESE!!! by the hunks!
Main problem for me to over come was large portions!!! 16oz strip loins!
tons of baby back ribs! tons of chicken without even thinking about it!
Sausage until I looked like one! LOL!!! I couldn't get enough until I was
stuffed!

I was never much of a consistent junk food eater, but I did like to binge
once every couple of months or so.
Chocolate bars (one coffee crisp, one kitkat, one Twix, Glosset raisins) and
Cheeses or Ruffles chips with French onion dip! I'd eat the whole thing in
one sitting and be looking for more!!!

The first thing I would always drool for was chicken skin or Turkey skin!!!!
I had to have it!
Funny thing is, is that I can't even remember the last time I've had any
since June 05.

It's really amazing how healthy I eat now and that I don't really even miss
that stuff much.
I've learned to substitute and I am really enjoying being experimental.

Hamburgers now - I use 95/5 ground beef with 1/4 cup of Italian bread
crumbs, one egg - 4 patties from 1 lbs of meat = 5 points each! I use Light
Hamburger buns = 1 point. I use Fat Free Cheese now on my sandwiches and
hamburgers.

I make huge potato fries by cutting them up, adding Italian seasoning and a
bit of extra virgin olive oil and I bake then until golden brown in the oven

I use Fat Free gravy

I use Fat Free chocolate syrup on my strawberries.

I eat light English muffins with reduced calorie peanut butter or sugar free
jam.

I use light bread for sandwiches or Turkey or chicken stuffing

I use Dream fields pasta instead of regular pasta.

If I really want something, I try to plan for it and figure out how many
points I need to set aside for it. Then I decide if it's really worth the
points or not and most of the time I say, the heck with it!, It's not worth
it! Orrrrrr, I say, well, what else can I have for that many points?

I gave in 2 months ago and deep fried some halibut, but I took the points
for the batter, fish and allowed 3 for the 3 minutes of deep frying - loved
it and still lost weight!

There so much more, but I've gone on long enough

I can say this though...........I'm enjoying living in this new world that
I've created for my entire family and it's working for all of us!

this is how I am, I do keep certain things in the freezer in the garage so

chocolate. I can't seem to leave it alone. ANything with chocolate is
difficult, if it's open it's worse

cheese. Worse than chocolate. I can't leave cheese in the fridge. I
can eat a whole slab and still go back for more.

alcohol. Not quite as bad. I just have to keep the top on and don't
leave it anywhere near the bed.

eating in company. whatever / wherever / whoeer. I jus can't seem to
keep to a ensible limit.

At least I know these are a problem and avoid them.

I do allow an indulgence every now and again. I have low fat
chocolate drink sometimes. Can't remember which one. It's in a blue
container from tesco, and comes in belgian, mint madness and orange.
The belgian is the best.
