Peter says he plonked me already. He still seems to reply to my posts
though. Oh ya, if you would like, I can ratchet up the obnoxious
level.

Any idiot can ratchet up the obnoxiousness. Add your flung poo to the
endless pool of poo flinging of morons with internet connections
worldwide. Do you think anyone will take you seriously that way? If
so, you've got another think coming.

However, if you really want to impress people, make them listen to
your point of view. You hate the Atkins diet, tell me why. State it
rationally, back it up with objective facts, debunk with real data and
I will listen (can't promise anyone else will, but you'll have my
ear). I won't promise not to rebut with my own set of facts, or
counter your debunk with one of my own, but I will listen. I expect
you to do the same.

From your previous posts, I would not have guessed that you do any
style of low carb, and are against all versions of it, hence my
comment in the first place. Frankly, you haven't made a very good
first impression, and I don't much patience for people who have an
exceptionally high noise to signal ratio. So far your noise ratio has
been awfully high.

If you are really are low carbing, great! By all means, hail, and
well met. Welcome to alt.support.diet.low-carb. There are some very
clever, and inventive cooks here, you can pick up some good recipes.
You may have something to say about your experience that will be
valuable to other diabetics. You may learn from them, too. You don't
agree with me on low carb style. So what? You won't find me arguing
with you over what you do, and I hope the reverse will be true. (If
not, then who's the extremist?) I don't care what you do, if it
works. As far as I'm concerned, there's no reason to be infighting
about low carb diets, they're all pretty similiar. Just don't bring
up that wacko blood type/diet type theory. ;-)

As for me, I'm a firm believer in not becoming diabetic (runs in the
family), and in losing weight until I reach a reasonalbe weight for my
height. Atkins is my best bet for that, for now. If there comes a
day when my bloodwork goes haywire, then my doctor and I will move on
to something else. Right now that day is not here, so I'm not going
to worry about it. If that makes me a cultist, then you've never met
anyone in a real cult.

You know what google is I assume. Go back and read my posts. I am not
going to rehash everything I have posted here. I am a selfish person.
I am here to pick up info that I can use in my own way. Not to impress
you or anyone else. If you have no patience for me, too bad. I have
never before posted anything in your direction (to the best of my
knowledge), however you thought it necessary to try to warn others
about me. Sorry, but I am not particularly impressed by you. Get off
the soapbox.

Your Pal,

Sleepy

Using the PCRM as his source would be like The KKK quoting David Duke as
proof that racism is a valid social system ....

Pretty much.

Dontcha just love these Atkins Cultists. I never met such a group of
close minded fundamentalist whackos. Their motto should be "we are
always right, and we wont listen to anyone that opposes our beliefs".
Put a * PLONK * at the end of that !

I went to the local grocery store yesterday, right inside the front
doors was a huge banner that said something about Atkins diet
supplies. Instead of shopping as I had inteneded, I immediately
walked up to the customer service counter. I asked to speak to a
manager. When he arrived, I told him that I have been a customer for
many years, and I will not return to this store again. When he asked
why, I pointed to that banner. I told him exactly how I feel about
Atkins, his diet, and his cult. I told him that if he is advertising
a diet that the AMA and most doctors believe is dangerous to ones
health, causing clogged arteries, heart attacks, and mental health
problems. I went on to tell him that he is not looking out for the
health of his customers, by advertising the Atkins diet, but instead
is selling out to greed. I further told him that he will be receiving
this in writing, and so will his boss at the top of the company chain.
And just to make my point real clear, I whipped out a few 20's from my
wallet, and said "I had intended to spend these here, instead I'll
spend them at _______ (other local grocery). Then I walked out the
store.

I do believe in low or I suppose around here it would be lower carb
diet, as I am forced to be due to my disease. My only argument here is
with the extremist element.

Sleepy

It's on the web, so it must be true. Quick, let's ban dihydrogen
monoxide! It has been known to be deadly when inhaled.

I wouldn't be surprised if our petaboy is extremely leery of getting any
dihydrogen monoxide on himself.

Actually, that was the result of the Mu/Chung/Pastorio wars. ASDLC
itself was but another one of their battlegrounds, just like ASD and
the cardiology group. There was no concerted effort on ASDLCers parts
to go annoy the diabetes group. There are a number of members in
common, but that's all.

Normal) almost makes me miss the Mu/Chung vs. Bob wars.

Bite your tongue!

If you've been reading the diabetes group today you'll see Mu is back.
The Mu/Chung/Pastorio wars have already resumed. Just a heads-up.
ASDLC doesn't start this stuff. We just attract the folks who do.
:-)

Most newsgroups have an extremist element, and I think diet groups
have to have one. It's the law or something. G Your lower carb
diet isn't Atkins or Protein Power low, but it's still a low carb
diet. For we diabetics it makes sense to lower carb intake.

Your best bet is to nod politely or ignore the Martha
Morelowcarbthanyou folks the same as you would that rabid cousin who
keeps telling you that your purchase of Nike shoes is morally
equivalent to keeping a slave. They aren't going to go away, their
position stems from a belief system. No amount of logic can dislodge
a belief - just look at religious disputes.

Take care,
Carmen
