Salt binge
I had a major jones for salt last night. I've been exercising a lot lately -
cub scout hike on Sunday (carrying a 4 yo most of the way), new aerobics class Monday, walking field trip with 1st graders Tuesday... Anyway, I was craving salt big time last night, and I think it was as a direct result of all that exertion. Fortunately, I dove into a bag of baked potato chips, and avoided the pringles... and did manage to stop after a reasonable amount. But, what would be a better thing to do? Suggesting fruit won't help - that just won't fix a serious salt jones. I don't have high blood pressure, or water retention issues, so I'm not
worried about that. I'd just like to find something other than potato chips (even the baked ones) to get a "fix"! I tried it and it was good and stopped the potato chip craving. Here is a fruit suggestion anyway, Try an orange cut in half with a saladito pushed into the center. A saladito is a dried salted plum. For a little extra kick try a chili saladito. I don't know how many points a saladito is but I can't imagine it has more than a point. Just be careful not to eat to many of these that would be really bad. Salty! -- ---------- Diana 2004 Total Layouts: 70 OZ Challenge: 173/165.2/105 |

Pretzels work for me. I can have 17 of the store brand mini pretzels
for 17 points. Or how about one of those 100 calories packets of crackers? Each box here is marked with a large NO to indicate to children and DH that they aren't to eat them (same with my yogurt). Mary |
