Default my little progress report end of week 1

Well, one week in, I am down 3kg (yay). The boo part is that I lost
that 3kg in the first 2 days, and nothing since.

So, next week, way less cheese, no diet coke til I've had 3l of water
(I saw someone else on here say that and it seemed like a good rule).
If I lose nothing by the end of week 2, I'll start tracking everything
I put in my mouth. I really want to avoid that if I can because
counting becomes an unhealthy thing for me.

But the fantastic news is that at the start of the week I had severe
eczema, some kind of weirdo flaky skin thing on my forehead and
eyelids, and eyes so puffy that I could feel myself blinking, and see
my own eyelids from the inside. My eczema is today 5% of what it was
last Saturday. I woke up this morning to NON puffy eyes. The flaky
skin thing is gone. That alone is success beyond an army of
dermatologists' reach.

We'll see what week 2 brings.

Thanks for all your inspiring posts.

Hope

I've been gaining weight, actually, and don't know what's up with that. The
other benefits outweigh what the scales say, and I'm all with that.

My mother, who has Alzheimer's, keeps asking me if I'm on a diet. Something
good must be happening.

You don't necessarily have to change what you are doing. Just give your
body a chance to "catch up" with your weightloss. What you are experiencing
is quite common. Try measuring yourself as well as weighing. Sometimes the
scales will drop but your body doesn't change. Then the scales will seem
"stuck" but your body continues to shrink.

All that in just one week? Amazing! You must be so thrilled. I hope your
weight loss will continue, too.

Obviously it must be that I am rather seriously allergic/sensitive to
something I eat when not LC (last time I lived LC, my skin was great
too). It's bizarre though because I have been tested for allergies to
all kinds of things by an immunologist and the *only* thing that I
tested allergic to was dust mites. So go figure.

Low-carb can become an elimination diet of sorts. I was put on one of
those years ago, by an allergist, and found out that I have a sensitivity
to potatoes. Now, I have the same reaction to bread. Horrible, painful
bloating. I have no interest in either of those things anymore.
