Look, I'm a newbie to this newsgroup. It was recommended to me by a
friend. When I arrived, all there was was trolls and spam. Not much of a
newsgroup. Now that I've cleared off the back log of crap that was in
this newsgroup, there is precious little left.

The tact that I took is called negative feed-back. If you point out how
stupid a post is, often the poster will not want to continue ownership,
e.g. "Oh look, stupid was here.". Once you know who they are, you can
just ignore them or killfile them, your choice.

In dealing with trolls, I never respond to multiple newsgroups, or if I
do, I make it incendiary and delete the newsgroup that I respond to.

At least I post. How many others are there lurking because they find
trolls distasteful?

As I said, I'm new here. I have no idea as to what led to the current
state of affairs in this newsgroup. If this group ever served any
function, it won't be fulfilled by running away.

So, if you don't like my ire with trolls and spam, then post something
useful so that I can show my vibrant, nurturing self.

I would still like to hear from Susan on how she reversed distal
neuropathy.

No, the tact you took was quoting troll and spam posts
in there entirety. Trolls and spammers are determined
by the content of their posts. Your posts contained
troll and spam material. Therefore you yourself are a
troll and spammer. Pretty simple how that works.

Trim your posts and start living down the history that
you have built for yourself! You've dug yourself into a
deep hole at this point.

I have no idea as to what led to the current
state of affairs in this newsgroup.

Unmoderated UseNet newsgroups are an experiment that
shows that complete freedom of speech is every bit as bad
as complete censorship. It's the way it is because it's
unmoderated. The only way to handle that is to decline to
respond to most and to trim out the problem content in
any case you do respond. Start using filters - Software ones
or wetware ones.

So, if you don't like my ire with trolls and spam,

Quoting their content does not express ire. It expresses
solidarity.

then post something
useful so that I can show my vibrant, nurturing self.

The UseNet experiment is also one of the results of long term
archiving and the ability for discussion to survive the loss of
any one server - The standard problem with other forums.

The result of this part of the experiment is extremely deep
exertese by certain posters and the development of FAQ
files that are better than any text book. There are several
regulars who post excellent content. Susan is one of the
most expert among them.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out Billy. Your idea of
improving this newsgroup by posting an inane reply to every piece of
spam obviously isn't winning you any respect.
