This morning the scale read in the 170's for the first time in a LONG
while, like 10+ years.

I can ALMOST fit into my benchmark college-era 501's from 15 years
ago... I had to stop wearing them sometime in the mid-late 90's . . .
probably 5 more pounds here and there to go until they become
comfortable again (they're technically wearable now, but I look like a
jordache model in them).

There's something wrong with that? g

Thanks all for the help. Next stage is upper body strength and
redevelopment. . . still need to join a gym....

Congratulations, Heywood. Enjoy the gym and don't neglect the squats!

Ahhhhhhh! I'm so jealous WTG Heywood! What's the maintenance plan?

keep on doing what I'm doing now until I can wear those 501's, then
keep adding more exercise and weight-training to get into better
shape. I've lost weight but I'm still flabby -- even when I was really
thin I didn't have a fit physique.

basically my eating habits are fundamentally altered. I do not drink
sugar-water or eat candy any more, I don't think I'll eat ice cream or
other calorie-dense nutritionally-poor stuff, and I will try to keep
within my calorie budget on a day-to-day basis.

basically still looking at food as fuel and not entertainment.

you're not doing so bad yourself! I happy with my 50, but 100lbs is
quite a milestone.
