My local Stop & Shop west of Boston now has about 1 1/2 of the
areas at the end of the aisles devoted to Atkins products, in
addition to the normal space in the diet section. Hmmm. Do you
think they might be getting the picture? They do have the Mike's
frozen meals (all but the two I most want to try) and apparently
have the Arnold's LC bread, although I didn't see that. (I was
talking to the breadman, who said there was no space for it in the
bread aisle, so they put it in some odd place. He also said it
sold out. I am not amused, since I have been looking for it.
There could have been a sign or something.)

I don't hold out much hope for our local Stop & Shop. Our's is really
pathetically small and has nothing for any type of WOE beyond mainstream. It
barely even nods to the fat free products I see strewn in all other grocery
stores.

I also saw that the local Stop & Shop has an end cap with Atkins stuff
on
it. I never saw it before, and am not quite sure why it's not with the
other "health food" stuff. Still, I didn't buy anything, as I think
most
of the "fake" low carb food is only good for periodic eating.

I just hope it means S&S is going to get more LC items in--like
the new Hood LC milk, er, dairy beverage, Breyer's low-carb ice
cream, etc. They did get those Mike's entrees, and I saw almost
all of them were gone.

I hope so, too. I'm going to check my local S&S to see. I just wish they
put them in an easily found spot.

I know what you mean. I rarely go to the Stop & Shop in my own
town, since I frequently can't find even the things that I
consider to be pretty basic there. The one I go to in a
neighboring town is MUCH better. I have seen the same at Shaw's
(ugh). The closest one to me is small and has a tiny health food
section, which shares its space with an even tinier low-carb
section--although there is a little stuff in the rest of the
store. A larger Shaw's, farther away, has a pretty decent health
food section, and a relatively good LC section in it. No Mike's
LC Gourmet and no Breyer's/Klondike CarbSmart stuff yet though.
Actually, I am about to go into Cambridge, so I may look at a few
stores on my way back.

That WOULD be helpful. I think the bread placement was a
fluke--at least I HOPE it was.

Was it labeled low-carb or lite? I have seen the light I think.

Definitely labeled "low-carb" else it wouldn't have caught my eye....

Has your store got the Arnold's bread in with the rest of the
bread?

Yes, in the regular bread aisle...

Also, Atkins stuff will be 25% off this coming week according to the
new flyer...

I didn't know Stop-and-Shop was still around. I heard that Stop-and-Shop and
A&P were going to merge....They were going to call it "Stop & P"....... ;-)

I'd better start reading those flyers....

Well, if the Arnold bread is labeled low-carb, I haven't seen it
yet. I think I am living in the store these days checking to see
whether it and various other things show up!
