revenge is a dish best served with high carbs and low points
Hi folks,
Well, we're going on holiday for 2 weeks to France, in August. The land of many good things........in many of which I shall indulge. Me, on a canal boat, in the sunshine, with a cold glass of dry white wine in one hand, and a good book in the other.......aaaaaaaaaahhh bliss. Anyway. Back to reality. Cheese, as we have gathered, is mostly to be avoided if you happen to be me. We're holidaying with my parents - my Mum is an Atkins person - mostly. So, she kinda glories in eating cheese and such in front of me. We both have the same goal, just different routes to get there, and she's done pretty well, so I'm not knocking it really. But, being honest......I'd kinda like to get my own back and eat lovely things that she can't eat: to make up for the cheese factor. What I need is food that's high in carbs, but low in points, and very yummy. Has to be low in points, else I won't bother - it'd be no better than cheese! And it has to be desirable, otherwise she won't even notice. Even french bread ain't exactly low point - which always amazes me since there's like no fat in it at all..... Come to my aid folks - consider it revenge on Atkins.....or something like that! hey - nobody ever said I was nice....... *grin* -- krys UK 157/128.6/126 Started March 1st 2001 GOAL August 16th 2001 ....going down?... |

Corn on the cob-grilled w/ salt no butter
Popcorn (very strong smelling) Cereal w/Milk (high in sugar) Fruit-any kind but mostly watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, grapes-the sweeter fruits Anything crunchy - I recently found soy chips(US) to be very crunchy. Fresh juicy apples (personal favorite) Tomato anything Pasta dishes bread crispy bread sticks candies that do not come in a low-sugar variety and can't be found easily on holiday wine I'm not thinking point value as I rattle this off. I am thinking of what I missed most when I was low carbing. The problem is that you'll have all those great cheese choices in France. I do not envy you. Hope those helped Julie "krys" wrote in message ... Hi folks, Well, we're going on holiday for 2 weeks to France, in August. The land of many good things........in many of which I shall indulge. The biggest things that drove my daughter nuts while on Atkins was pizza, pasta
.... anything with tomatoes. I know they aren't exactly point friendly, but it might be fun to order a large pizza and just leave it sitting on the table in front of her. g Sandwiches were another thing she missed, the bread and rolls. And wine!!! joyce On Fri, 11 Jun 2004 17:04:19 +0100, "krys" wrote: Hi folks, Well, we're going on holiday for 2 weeks to France, in August. Cheese is high in points, so you can go for the equivalent. This covers bread, pasta, and potatoes as well as a host of other stuff. The perfect accompaniment to cheese - wine and crackers. Also fish pie squash lasagne - (ok it's not low point - but this is revenge) and snickerslimfast/snicker Ray |

I love grape tomatoes.
If you have access to red and yellow grape tomatoes they make a great salad when sliced in half with fresh dill or cilantro and salt/pepper. " Catherine White" wrote in message ...
