update on am I eating enough.
Well here is a update and man is it wacky or am I wacky??
Anyway I tried eating more food mainly low carb to get rid of the sore muscles. It helped some but I could not eat enough to stop it. Well I tired eating fruit like I used too. 3 pieces of fruit twice a day. All the leg soreness is gone. But my rides suck they are slow and my legs feel tired if I try to push them at all. This is exactly how it used to be. I tried three pieces of fruit for breakfast and a couple scoops of protein powder the first time. The morning ride was ok. I had three pieces of fruit a couple hours before leaving work and the ride was slow as molasses. So today I had a couple pieces of fruit with protein powder (a orange and a grapefruit) and then had a light breakfast (small sausage patty and one egg. (been riding well on that minus the fruit) Well the ride was even worse. No soreness but I could not push at all. So I had my usual lunch without any fruit and the ride home was far better. It seems fruit slows me down. If I eat it even two hours before the ride it hurts the ride. So I will try fruit at night and maybe fruit after my ride in the morning. I will keep up the low carb meals but I will start playing with what I eat for lunch. It seems what I have for breakfast affects my morning ride and really affects the evening ride. But if I have a larger breakfast I can get away with less for lunch. But in all of the time I was overeating to try to solve this problem I lost two pounds. Now don't' that beat all. So I wonder and I burning so many calories or is my body still really inefficient at digesting the food? Since I am seldom really hungry I bet it is my digestion. -- Knight-Toolworks & Custom Planes Custom made wooden planes at reasonable prices See http://www.knight-toolworks.com For prices and ordering instructions. |

It's great that you're riding a lot but I wouldn't try to push the exercise into aerobic training, since low-carb and aerobics = catabolic = lost muscle mass. But in all of the time I was overeating to try to solve this problem I lost two pounds. Now don't' that beat all. It could be just water loss. Make sure you measure at the same time each day, with similar hydration levels (OOW drink more than enough water all day), and keep a running average 3-4 daily measurements to smooth out fluctuations. So I wonder and I burning so many calories or is my body still really inefficient at digesting the food? Since I am seldom really hungry I bet it is my digestion. I'd ask this question on a more sports-oriented group (sci.med.nutrition), or do some more web searching. eg: http://www.slowtwitch.com/mainheadin...i/fluidq5.html has some answers including complex carbs that seem reasonable to my untrained eye. |

It's great that you're riding a lot but I wouldn't try to push the exercise into aerobic training, since low-carb and aerobics = catabolic = lost muscle mass. that's the thing I am not pushing it. when I eat the way I am now I go faster and I don't seem to work that hard. when I don't eat right I go slower and it seems like a huge chore. It could be just water loss. Make sure you measure at the same time each day, with similar hydration levels (OOW drink more than enough water all day), and keep a running average 3-4 daily measurements to smooth out fluctuations. been hovering at the same weight for awhile. last time I was loosing weight when I ate more I lost more. now seems to be the same. I'd ask this question on a more sports-oriented group (sci.med.nutrition), or do some more web searching. the problem is I seem to be allergic to most carb sources. or atleast if I eat them often. I don't know all of the details about that yet because I have to get sick to see what ones my body does not like. Plus they don't seem to give me energy right away I need several hours to get any energy from them. I told you my body is wacky. so I have to eat low carb most of the time. -- Knight-Toolworks & Custom Planes Custom made wooden planes at reasonable prices See http://www.knight-toolworks.com For prices and ordering instructions. |
