Yes, my first scheduled "ride" is for an event called "Girls With
Gears."

"April 22 - Girls with Gears. Yes, I am riding in a "woman's cycling
event." Bikesport, one of the ride organizers, assures me that I am
welcome to ride, despite my Y chromosome. Money raised supports
research on heart disease in women."

Rachel, that was for MS - and thank you very much! I don't need to
gain sponsorship for Girls For Gears, but I'm going to try to raise
some funds for the sponsor, Carol For Heart.

Your schedule sounds like a lot of fun. I especially like the street skills
course. This will come in handy in your location. I rode several of the
roads in Philly on the Livestrong ride and they have wonderful bike lanes.

The most important thing is to just keep adding miles, work on those hills
and enjoy it.

The weather has finally turned decent here. I was able to get in a couple
short rides yesterday and again today. We're doing the regular Sunday
morning breakfast ride tomorrow and our Monday night ride along the river
trail. Wow! Biking season is finally here

I loved the ride report!

One suggestion just in case you don't already know it. When leaning
into turns be sure the inside pedal is up and the outside pedal is
down. This will prevent you from catching the pedal on the ground and
also helps with balance at higher speeds. This isn't as important at
lower speeds as it is at higher speeds but it's something you want to
learn to do automatically.

Have fun! The Sunday morning breakfast ride was wonderful.

Beverly
