Default I have never gone more than 3 days without binging (on carbs)

I think today will be the first day I break that record, the power of will
is with me today. I am STRONGLY tempted to eat something carby & sweet right
now. It's a lust in my body. It's a very strong compulsion that always
develops on days 3 & 4. I've been in lipolysis for a day now, I can taste
the ketones. I won't give in to this (nearly) overwhelming temptation. Do
you guys have any advice to give on how to sate this lust aside from
actually eating carbs? (sorry, just had to make that proviso given JC Der
Koenig's tendencies ).

Thanks!

-Chad

Eat protein and fat....a very large well prepared steak, or a slab of ribs
with no sause...and eat plenty. Add in LC veggies with fat-filled
dressings..

Agreed. Spend the day eating delicious satisfying and filling low carb
foods. Do not worry about the fat or the calories until you get the
urge to binge taken care of.

You can do it.

The hardest days. Check. However many times you've tried to start
and dropped in day 4, understand that each time you did more effort
than the next month or more. You stopped at the point where the
effort falls off a cliff. And each time you lost all of that work.
Focus on that.

My advice is a direct quote from Dr Atkins no matter what plan you're
actually on: "Be shockingly unafraid of fat!" To get through the initial
cravings pour on the fat for a few days. It takes the carb cravings and
adds satiety on top of them. The cravings don't actually go away until
day 5 or so but all that extra fat converts it from a birth by fire
ordeal to a bizzare experience. Of course as soon as the cravings drop,
taper back on the fat from shocking levels to regular old high levels.
Over eating is forbidden as soon as the cravings pass but while they are
still happening the fat is the ticket.

Dr A removed this piece of excellent advice from his 2002 edtion. The
more I think about it, the more I think that the Atkins process never
got any better than the 1999 edition even though the wording got better
every edition.

I have never had any self control, and yet this is 5 years without ever
carb binging. Eat meat...... eat salad.... drink water. Get yourself filled
up.

In rode over the compulsion to binge during induction by eating about
5-10 salty peanuts and drink warm hebal tea that also acted as mild
laxative. It helps tremendously for me.

I've never tried this but back when I first joined the newsgroup people were
suggested taking L-glutamine for cravings.
