Default Food & Exercise -- 10/7/2003

Food:

9:00 (home): 3/4 cup Hi-Lo cereal, 16g whey protein, 3/4 cup skim milk

12:00 (work, brought from home): leftover Chinese chicken (158g) w/
broccoli (120g)

3:00 (work, brought from home): f/f peach yogurt

5:00 (gym, before workout): 2 bites of Ahmed's muffin :-)

7:00 (driving home from gym): energy bar

8:00 (home): 160g turkey meatloaf w/ 3 slices melted f/f cheese

10:00 (home -- planned): 1 cup f/f cottage cheese w/ 3 tbsps
sugar-free jam

Totals: 1396 calories, 29g fat (19%), 122g carbs (35%), 169g protein
(48%)

5:00 -- Exercise (Olympic lifting):

Rabbit jumps: 2 * 80 ft. (with a few brief -- 10 seconds or so --
rests along the way)

Classic cleans from blocks at just below knee level: 2x5x30kg/66lbs;
2x3x35; 2x2x37.5; 2x1x40/88

Clean pulls, also from the blocks: 2x5x40; 2x3x47.5; 2x3x52.5

That was it. I skipped cardio because I was very tired. For some
reason I had a lot of difficulty getting to sleep last night and only
slept around 3 hours. And I hadn't eaten enough before exercising, I
think. After the rabbit jumps (jumping from deep squat to deep
squat), I was pretty pooped. The rest went okay, but my energy level
was pretty low.

I hate rabbit jumps...I am so glad Ahmed had you and Kathy do them too.
(However, they are a little below monkey jumps on the "Oh, no he's making me
do that scale!") Misery sure does love company. Stuart was a riot
though....12 year old that he was he just jumped back and forth across the
room and wasn't even winded. However, I am pleased to note that I've lost 3
lbs...most likely water. But, my weightlifting shoes fit much better, my
face looks different and the scale is happier. I am happier. I always feel
better when I am operating a little on empty, even though my brain keeps
telling me the opposite and is always mentally trolling the cupboards.
