Default Week 1

Hey everybody! Hope you're all having a great day.

I had my second meeting this week--the end of week one. Nervously I
stepped on the scale...and I was down 2.8 lbs. Yay!

Woooo hoooo!

It was kind of a surprise because I used all of my flex points and I had
to count some pretty high point indulgences. My soon to be former eating
habits are pretty bad, so this is a learning experience. I'm trying to
make lasting changes. I did make some better choices--especially fitting
in more fruits and vegetables and whole grains. And I give myself
permission to make mistakes. At least for a while. A health care
practitioner told me I should plan to stay with the program for at least 3
months before I can notice lasting changes becoming habit.

My favorite thing in this is "learning experience" and it will be for a long
long time. That's a good thing cause the more you learn, the more
interesting it remains, it's when you feel like you know everything that it
gets really boring.

I've been at this for 4 years, and it's still a learning process, things
that were easy becomes hard sometimes, thing that I thought would always be
a struggle suddently stopped being one. This is a fun adventures, lots of
ups and down, but full of surprises !

I was really scared at first to keep that Quik Trak record of what I eat.
I didn't want to see it in writing. But now it's not so bad. I know I
can stay within my points. And I'm learning to budget my points so I can
be satisfied. For instance, most crackers are just OK, but I'm not sure
they're worth as many points as they are.

And that's the very core of losing weight ! So there !

Thanks for listening (or reading). Have a great week!

Patty
