Back from U.S. trip report!
Hi, people. I arrived back on Saturday night from my trip to the U.S.
Yesterday things were still "unsettled" as far as time changes are concerned, so I weighed myself this morning, Monday morning. I'm happy to report that I lost 2.8 kg = 6 lb during my three-and-a-half week trip. Not bad! The first two weeks or so were actually very easy to stay on my diet. I was staying with my sister and ate mostly at home, so with Cathy's help we had fun closely checking calories, weighing things, etc. I was more worried about the last week in St. Louis where I had less information about what I was eating. There was a continental breakfast and lunch buffet provided, so 90% of what I ate I had to eyeball and guess, from experience, what the calories were. I would be surprised if I was correct to within even 30%, but I am almost positive that even with the variance I never exceeded my saved bonus calories. Yesterday, after getting back, I had to attend a memorial service for a close friend who died last year and went with everybody to a formal lunch afterwards on the 27th floor of a fancy hotel for a gourmet Chinese lunch. What I did was just eat the obviously low-fat stuff and passed stuff like the Peiking Duck, some other fried and fatty stuff and the desserts on to more ravenous lunch partners. The result was that I enjoyed the lunch, was satisfied with what I ate, and am pretty sure I kept my calories under 800 while passing up probably twice that much in stuff I didn't need. At any rate, the results were just fine and it seems I continued to just keep losing at my regular weight. While I was gone I went through the following milestones: * Total weight loss: 125 kg - 94.2 kg = 30.8 kg (more than 30 kg lost!) * In lb: 275 lb - 207.2 lb = 67.8 lb (broke under the 210 lb barrier!) It seems that my weight loss is going at a more regular clip in the 90s than it was when I was trying to break the 100 kg barrier. Just a little over 4 more kg and I'll be in (dare I say it?) the 80s! Anyway, I'll post a full report on Friday, my usual weigh-in day. But just wanted to let everybody know that the trip went well and I was able to stay on my diet. Thanks for all your responses to my postings during the trip! doug |

You are doing very well Doug. An odd thing happened to me during the last 20
or so pounds I had to lose. It actually speeded up. Maybe you will have that experience also. -- Lesanne "Doug Lerner" wrote in message ... Hi, people. Hi, Doug, It was good to read your post. You handled the eating after the
memorial service wonderfully. Stress eating is the hardest for me to handle. Take Care Catherine "Doug Lerner" wrote in message ... Hi, people.
