Well, that's true. Sorting though it all is too much. If you got some good
ones filed away, I'd love to hear.

Right -- over a year ago as you noted in the other post. I saw that too, but
my guess is that Penny remembers Priscilla for one reason or another (who
knows if the exchanged off ng back then). Also, from what I saw, the Penny
character didn't seem all that extreme, as these regilious types go. She
obviously had some people over there inflamed, however. I think Priscilla
labeled "him" a troll, even. You take some religious fanaticism and some
name calling and mix them together, and this is what you get.

Imo, religion is a topic better avoided if you don't wish to invite hassles.

A short answer is that there are people out there with very strong views
about certain churches. I've seen it over and over here.

Not from me -- I had no idea that the tagline meant anything. So,
"Also, having such a tagline
simply invites this kind of attention" should be changed to "Also,
having such a tagline
simply invites this kind of attention for people who know something
about this religion."

I thought you killfiled this thread.

Steve

I did, but my darn program has begun to make me manually say "filter"
messages. I'm not sure why, as it gets most of the posts with "mu" anywhere
in the text. Unfortunately, it looks like a bug. So, I want to killfile
it, but my program isn't quite responding correctly for whatever reason.
See, if I manually apply the filter, it works! What good is a killfile
that you have to manually apply? Perhaps I'm going to have to research
better news programs.

Basically. It can be viewed also as helping people. Just as feeding the

Right. Many religions work that way, as I'm sure you know. Politics, too.

I would not call it superiority per se, but more the notion that they have
something that everyone else really needs, but they just don't know it. I
liken it to seeing a blind person about to walk into traffic and trying to
stop them before all hope is lost....I don't think it stems from a notion
that I'm better than you, so you had better listen to me....

:: They don't have

Well, anytime someone thinks they are right and others are wrong, you'll get
to this situation.

However, in this particular case, I think both parties line up on similiar
sides, with the exception of homosexuality.

I agree with him on that since I'm a human being and I would be very
concerned about what another person had done in their relationships if I
was sleeping with them whether or not they were consenting adults.

Not only that but in the giving and transfusion of blood and the cost
to taxpayers and medical insurance providers. Who you (plural) screw
has a direct influence on our lives.

I
think that qualifies as the "any reason" you couldn't think of. I could
be wrong. :-)

Not this time.

Carmen, to give a little more background, the US is peppered with
rectangular signs with the symbol of the Episcopal Church on it and the
saying, "The Episcopal Church Welcomes You!" and directions to the local
Episcopal Church.

Following the consent to the election of Gene Robinson as Bishop,
Episcopalians have been the object of scorn and derision by people --
often not Episcopalians -- who call us names, verbally spit on us, and
generally abuse us for doing what we think is right with our church. In
an effort to point out the positive, I adopted as my sig an expansion on
the Episcopal Church's motto, pointing out that we are, indeed, a "big
tent" and welcome everyone. Apparently not everyone wants to be
welcomed.
