What about muscle loss? Also, while disease may have been low, does this imply that the POWs were in a constant state of health? Can you be sure their overall health was not in a state of decline? Also, how long is a great deal of time? I made two trips and spent almost six weeks. I saw POW's when they were enrolled and when and a few months later. Most were experiencing the first of manual labor (like digging and maintaining your own latrine) so, if anything, they were more active than previous. Remember, I specifically am mentioning the aristocratic arm of Hussein's government/army. Their overall health is approximately the same as the general population. The future? No change is expected. These are folks we want to keep alive and well for reason of information gathering and potential war crimes prosecution. Are you absolutely sure they had no other means of obtaining more food? Absolutely, positively, not a chance in hell. :: The Simple Two Pound Diet works as advertised...even when it is :: implemented on those who, shall we say, didn't exactly choose to use :: it. There were not on the 2PD....it sounds as if they were on something much more restrictive than even the 2PD. Their amounts of food were less than the 2Pound Diet which is the point I am making. No one starved, no one got ill (from reduced food volumes), hunger deteriorated.....just as one would expect from any 2pDiet like experience. Eat less. We don't need nearly as much food as we think. All will be well. |
