On the first question you can't really tell. Your fasting BG is good,
but the test you've devised isn't quite the same sort as the medical
people use. Below are a few links so you can run the test again with
established standards to compare to:

For starters, that's not a fair test. To do it right, you need to
fast for 12 hours beforehand, test just before the drink and every 30
minutes after that, for the whole 2 hours. The shape of the BG curve
is about as important as any one number, so the data you collect
should tell you when you can stop collecting.

If you're sadistic, test every 15 minutes so you don't miss the spike.

To test for reactive hypoglycemia, you need to test for 5 hours. If
that 61 were to keep falling, then it would be an indication that you
have hypoglycemia.

I did two tests, one hour (126) and 2:15 (61).

Only your doctor can tell you what physical condition you are in. This test
is not good enough. BTW, fooling around with this yourself isn't very wise.
You do appear to be within the normal range although dipping into the 60's
is a bit low.

That tells you next to nothing.

This never ceases to amaze me that 60 is considered low. I've had afternoon
blood sugars in the high 40's many, many times, and never had a "symptom",
though I understand I should be in a coma or something.
Oh, maybe that explains things....(G)

Thanks. Some sites say 50 grams, some say 75 grams. I remember
reading about this.

It is 9:40am, and my BG is 61. (2 hours 15 minutes after start)

61 would be low for many people, but if you don't get symptoms don't
worry about it. Question. If you redo the test and it shows marked
abnormalities what would you do differently?

Take care,
Carmen

forgot to answer your question. If I had seen marked abnormalities,
I would go to some decent doctor if it was full blown disease. If
not,
I would simply further reduce my daily carb allowance. All other
things that could help, like staying slim and exercising, I already
do.

If you're worried about it you could ask to have an hba1c done. That
test gives a ~3 month snapshot of what your blood sugar levels have
been like.

Take care,

I think that, based on what I observed on my tests etc, hba1c is not
warranted. My blood lipids are also in a decent shape, as is my
blood pressure. (I used to be in a much worse shape prior to weight
loss, with respect to BP, etc).

Then just keep doing the things that got you those results, relax and
enjoy the wife and son. :-)

Take care,
Carmen
