100 Day Diet and Exercise program to start Sunday August 15 at Midnight
At midnight, Sunday, August 15, 2004,, the 100 day march to
Thanksgiving will start. It will end Tuesday, November 23rd at midnight, a day before Thanksgiving. That's 2400 hours later and anyone sitting down for Thanksgiving should be able to do so with a clearer conscience and hopefully a healthier body. Things I stress during this time period include the following: Lower calorie intake Daily Exercise Daily charting of progress Regular weighing (I weigh myself daily on a balance scale, but I do not move the indicator to the right to see how much water weight I've put on. If I am on a clear negative calorie diet, I know the weight will come off, unless the laws of physics are suspended in my neck of the woods – and clearly they aren't.) Limiting meals. Not using bread (which can be used as a vehicle for so many kinds of food) or beer. Trying to record what I eat. I'm also going to try to limit my time in the kitchen and will start attacking those to-do lists more rigorously when I'm home. If anyone would like to pace my progress, beat me, use this as a focus, etc., then I certainly would welcome them along. Losing weight can sure be difficult, and keeping it off is difficult as well. Right now, I'm interested in losing it. (Having started at over 270, I've kept off 40 pounds or so over the years.) Our main goal is to be good enough for long enough and to just keep plugging along. Yours, Caleb |

Our main goal is to be good enough for long enough and to just keep plugging along. Yours, Caleb I am with you Caleb. All the way. Damn the torpedos and negative talk. I love your positive attitude and gusto. I am looking to lose 44 lbs by 1 Jan 2005. This is 2 lbs a week for 22 weeks. I weigh-in each and every Saturday a.m. I tipped the scales yesterday (7-31-04) @ 201. 2 lbs a week will put me at 157 on New Year's day. If all goes according to plan, I will lose ~30 of those lbs during the 100 days to Turkey Day. How will I do it? Well I already exercise a lot, so that will remain the same. I will average 2100 calories a day during this time. For me this breaks down to 1600 calories a day during the week, w/7000 total calories over the weekend. This comes to 15,000 calories a week or 2142 calories a day. THIS MUST BE ADHERED TO. Simple and sweet. Be good enough, long enough. Al in Nebraska |

Al -- Great for you! Damn the torpedoes is right! Even the torpedoes
of people who simply HAVE to give you the latest advice. I think many people are marred by such advice rather than helped by it. Seems to me you know what works for you -- so STICK TO IT! GREAT ATTITUDE! Yours, Caleb Al Rainey wrote in message ... Our main goal is to be good enough for long enough and to just keep plugging along. Yours, Caleb I am with you Caleb. All the way. I bit the bullet at 223 pounds a week or so back, and I'm working on an extra-low calorie regime. For now about 800 cals per day. This works out for me to about 0.7 pounds a day, and of course it's not sustainable. But I'll stick with it until my static metabolism goes crazy, and then make adjustments. Let's see how it goes. I've promised myself a Miata when I hit 175. LazyEights -- |
