Default Sooo many trolls!

OT to the subject of the group, but on-topic to the problems we have here.

This is supposed to be a support group for people who have a physical
problem. I can't believe how many trolls there are. I plonk them, but that
only kills their posts and not their threads. Are there any email readers
out there with a good plonk feature? For example, if kellyfartsone posts a
new post, I want to not see the whole thread. If he replies to a post, I
want to not see his reply or anything below it.

I use Outlook Express as a reader. I've recently tried Foxfire and Xnews to
no avail.

OE works fine. You can add names, parts of names or addresses to the
"Message Rules" which amounts to a killfile.

I use slrn. It can killfile by poster name (or part of it), by
subject, or by a newsgroup to which messages are crossposted. For
example, I killfile everything that is xposted to sci.med.cardiology
or soc.support.fat-acceptance. Very nifty features.

anyone care to tell me how to do it in thunderbird? i'm too lazy to find
out...and dr. chung is getting way annoying....

Agent plonks threads as well as posters. The thing about the thread
is you have to plonk each thread you don't want manually, so it does
require some extra work.

The "delete" key is my best solution. Some defy my Thoth newsreader's
filter. I know most of the worst offenders but occasionally feel like
snapping back.
