Default core is being very good to me

A while back I tried the Core plan and lasted less than two days. There were
a lot of reasons but mostly I wasn't able to put in the time for the
planning, etc. I also didn't like not journaling.

This weekend I went back to it. My schedule is so open during the summer
because I choose the hours I do work. They also changed the plan manager on
the website and it's easier to track everything. I had a major loss by this
morning though I don't weigh in until Friday. The plan is getting easier
and it's really not much of a change from what I was doing on flex except
that I don't measure my fruit or veggies. I still measure calorie dense
foods like meats and whole grains.

It's personally important to me to be able to do the core plan because I
will not succeed in the long term if I don't repair the problems with hunger
and fullness.

It also doesn't hurt that I've had as many AP's this week as flex points

BTW, I'm officially old now. I just got my first pair of bifocals, 2 months
before the big 4-0.

Ha, ha, ha. I am old enough to be your mother.

Both of my parents are giving me crap about being "old." I know I'm not
as old as some, and I seriously thought it would be no big deal to turn 40
but I've made a strange mental shift I didn't expect to happen. I don't
feel bad - I weigh less than I did at 18 and I'm more physically fit and
healthy than I've ever been. I just recognize that I'm no longer 25 anymore
regardless of how I feel. Well I still have 2 months to enjoy being a
30-something!

Default core is being very good to me

I've been thinking about trying Core again for the summer to see what
happens. I tried it for about 3 weeks and had a little loss with no gain.
It was easy, but I felt out of control because I wasn't journaling and felt
like I was eating far too many points.

With the summer fruit available and going on a cruise at the end of this
month, then going to Disney at the end of August, I think doing Core might
be a good choice for me......I'm just not 100% sure yet.

Keep us posted on your progress VB Chick - I may just join you on Core.

I think that because I've continued journaling it's made things easier. For
me journaling is less of a pain than measuring.

I'll be traveling at the end of the month so we'll see how well it works for
me. I'm going to be stuck in a convention center with concessions only for
part of the day. I'm hoping to be able to schedule real meals around the
work schedule! The good news is that I'll be refereeing a major volleyball
tournament and extremely busy for 4 days - no time for lots of eating and
yet being very active all day. I'll take some smoothies with me (and ice
packs for my shoulders!).

When will the concession stands start changing their menus? I think I
asked the same question about restaurants last week. We have a minor
league baseball team, great ball park, but after the first year of poor
sales they took away the only place that sold somewhat nutritious food.
So I have to hide snacks in my purse (outside food is discouraged), eat
really early and then drink diet soda or water during the games.

Weigh your portions to be sure you are eating one proper portion of
anything. And remember: eat until satisfied, not FULL!

This I admit to having trouble with, as my 'full' switch is lazy. And I
eat too fast, after years of boarding school, college, then teaching
where one ate on the hop or at the gallop!

Try it, and if it doesn't suit, you have time to go back to points.

Default core is being very good to me

This is an interesting thread.

After my first stall I tried core and gained so I went back to flex.
My problem is if I don't count points I just don't stop eating. I may
give it another shot.

I've been most successful doing the Wendie Plan. I went back to flex
points because on the low point days I got very hungry and I was
uncomfortable with the 39 point day.

Now I'm in another stall. No loss last week and this week so far I've
gained a pound. Frustrating. I need to get more upbeat and get my
motivation back.

LOL!!!..........I'm was the same way on Core - I felt it was a license to
continue eating!!!!!! especially because I really like to eat healthy and
don't miss the junk food.

That's why I need to keep things in check - tuning into that hunger meter
and knowing when you have eaten enough to feel satisfied is very important
when doing Core. I also eat too fast and I need to slow down and give my
brain time to register that I've eaten enough - I'm told it takes approx. 20
to 25 minutes........
