Default Atkins at Day 19

I started at 5'6" 172 lbs, 29 years old, male

At day 12 I weighed 165

At day 19 I weighed 161

All while eating generous amounts of eggs, bacon, sausage, steak, salad. I'm
going to feast on another large steak tonight.

I tried for about a month to get under 170 by power walking and eating a low
calorie diet -- baked potatoes, bread, sandwiches. I didn't lose a pound.
Now i've lost 11.

Okay, I'll keep an eye out for the stall, but I hope I can get close to 150
or under 150 before that happens. My goal is 143-145.

Great job. Isn't low-carb awesome?

But don't be surprised if your weight loss stalls or drastically slows
down any day. Many low-carb dieters have a stall about 3 weeks into
the plan as the body adjusts to burning the new fuel, and it can be
frustrating. If it happens, don't get discouraged. Just stick with
it and you'll get past it.

I went from 268 lbs. to 197 lbs. on low-carb. I stayed under 25 grams
per day the entire time. The trick was, every other week I'd eat NORMAL
food, usually on a fairly busy weekday like a Saturday. Maybe a couple
biscuits with gravy and a little hash browns for breakfast, and that
evening we'd go out to somewhere like Applebee's and just enjoy a nice,
normal meal, a couple of cocktails and a rich dessert. This seems to
"trick" the body into not dropping its metabolism. Monday morning, I'd
be back to low carb, and just took up where I left off. I never gained
any weight after those weekends. And they were VERY enjoyable!!!

Anyway, this approach worked fine for me. Nowadays I keep my carbs
under 30-40 per day, and with my lower weight I'm able to work out
twice a week, play tennis, swim, and just in general be more active
than I could back when I was hauling around the equivalent of a 21-inch
TV on my waist.
