Why?

Lack of essential amino acids...
While a fat fast will accelerate fat burn, you are also going to lose
some muscle.

Balance is the key...
I'd suggest you do some research.

There is no such thing as an essential carbohydrate. You CAN live
without them. Totally.

Try living on pure fat long enough and you will die. The body needs
essential fatty acids and essential amino acids (from protein) to
survive.

Oh Angie...

You know well and good that fat is not evil!

Sugar, that raises your tryglycerides out the roof, is what clogs
arteries! Even my endocrinologist knows this.

Exactly. And the fact you never really have a meal of any sort, unless you
count 2 oz of cream cheese as a meal. :-) Or 12 macadamia nuts.

Just a suggestion for those that want to test it for themselves. Do it for 4
days, then post back.

Really though, the Atkins diet is outstanding. Why the media and people are
blind to the fact, I'll never know. 172 to 153 in six weeks and healhier
than ever, never hungry and eating foods I love like steak every day. Ribs!
Grilled chicken! Salad! All while cutting my soda habit and never even white
bread or white rice again. Gotta love it.

Agreed. ;-)

I have used fat fasting for up to 5 days to break sticking points, but
it's a bitch to stay on as I'm hungry all the damned time. :-P

I suggest you read my posts completely.

I never said I was going to eat nothing but fat for the rest of my life. I
said it was 4-5 days, what Dr Atkins suggested.

If balance means avoiding large amount of carbs while eating generous
amounts of protein and fat, I agree with you.

I think it would be impossible to eat enough fat to stop weight loss. You'd
probably throw up by then or not be hungry at all. Someone should go on a
2,000 calorie, 90% fat diet and see what happens. However, I agree with the
previous poster... carbs make you fat due to insulin. Fat does not make you
fat.

TC...don't be stupid...if you don't know that I EAT A HIGH-FAT DIET by
now, you're a complete moron...

What I was attempted to point out is that you can't just eat MORE FAT and
expect to keep losing weight. i.e, eating more fat doesn't equate to more
fat loss, though eating a high-fat diet can, under the appropriate
circumstances. Of course, I don't expect you to believe that since you
think thta only carbs make people fat.

More of your "the world according to TC" logic.

Can you mock up a quick daily menu based on that, and I'll try it.

Not true. There is still insulin....hence, eating too much will make you
fat. No, fat doesn't make you fat, and neither do carbs. But eating too
much will.

And one can eat too much fat....
