After a little over 9 weeks I've gone from 174/175 lbs to 153.8. 38" waist
to just under 33". I eat mainly steak and eggs, my appetite is really
surpressed I found I can drink diet soda, coffee with splenda, and still
lose weight. I still don't like my love handles though, I want to slim down
even more (say, 140-145) and see how I look then. But 5'6" and 153 with a
33" waist isn't so bad. My BMI is finally just inside the healthy range. I
recommend the atkins shakes (i drink 2-3 a day sometimes) and the atkins
chocolate bars if you need something extra. Amazing what not eating white
bread or ingesting sugar will do for you.

Nah, can't stand veggies, and they put weight on me.

Congratulations on your loss - but how about adding some veggies into that
diet?!

Nicky.

There's nicer ways of living than coping with malnutrition.

Good job, short! I know several people who eat as you do and have had
similar excellent results! One of them is having her blood work done by her
doctor regularly; it has improved to perfection eating a high fat
carnivorous diet. While I don't believe I could do it, I'm happy for those
who have such great results .

And that's just a matter of finding the right vegetables. Potatoes and
corn are right out, but spinach, broccoli, dark lettuces shouldn't be a
problem and are packed with nutrients that you will eventually need.
Tomatoes, onions, and peppers could probably be eaten in moderation.

As for preparation, what about pan fried onions and mushrooms on your
steak? What about an omelette with chopped up spinach or tomatoes? Do
you eat dairy? Because, imo, put enough melted cheese and butter on it
and just about any vegetable is palatable.

I once made chicken nuggets by using mushed up pork rinds for the
breading and egg for the binder, and they came out great, though it was
a lot of messy work, but I imagine the same thing could be done to make
some crunchy fried vegetables! Hmm, that sounds good. Maybe I'll do
some eggplant strips like that!

Zucchini are yum done similarly - although I tend to use a buckwheat/oat
bran coating, UK pork rinds are a whole other thing : ) I regularly cook
fish goujons as a "breaded" thing, and I used to cook them with some
carefully done in breadcrumbs for the carbers, and mine done separately -
until the kids mixed the plates up one day, and devoured mine : )

I enjoy veggies so much more now I'm low-carbing. I now own several
vegetarian cookery books, just for different serving ideas, and am amazed at
the range of tastes and textures from things I thought were the boring bits
of a meal as a kid! I still enjoy the meat, but now that tends to be the
"side"...

Ok, usually. It just seems so weird for someone to say they don't like
an entire category of foods with such a wide range of flavors and
textures.

I could imagine not liking spinach, or not liking broccoli, or
cauliflower, or dill pickles, or tomatoes, or onions, or mushrooms, or
lettuce, or peppers, or squash, or etc. but not liking any of them? Not
even one? When they're all so different?

I could imagine not liking raw vegetables, or steamed, or boiled, or
fried, or sauteed, or kebabbed, or in sauces, or in soups, or in
casseroles, or baked and stuffed with stuff, but not liking any of
these? Not even one? When they're all so different?

It's just weird. More often than not, "can't stand veggies" actually
means "my mom cooked them all mushy and then made me eat them anyway, so
now that I'm grown I can rebel against her and never eat any
vegetables."

Anyway, short, you can totally live without vegetables, and probably
without getting nutrient deficiencies, because after all the Inuit do
it. Just make sure you eat the partially digested stomach contents of
the animals you eat, and you should be fine.
