A TOPS newsgroup? I did a newsgroup seach and it didn't come up. I
belonged to TOPS two separate times and lost some weight but was overall not
happy with the people in the group. I found much of the time that they were
older women there to socialize, even knitting while the group was going on.
So I quit it. If I could find a younger crowd (40ish) I'd join again. Is
it still the same, mainly keeping a log and counting calories.

Well it depends on how your chapter wants to do things, We are a
somewhat younger group. range from 15 to mid 60's maybe. We have 1 KOPS
member, I person trying for KOPS status. We don't do the counting, we
do have a few that keep logs, but we are there for the support and to
see how things went for the week and I have started some new things and
plan to continue to try different things to keep the chapter motivated,
but we need more members that are willing to do things not just some
in, weigh-in and listen to me talk or do a presentation, I like to have
member participation if I can. You just have to visit different
chapters and see what is best for you and what fits into your schedule.
You can also start a chapter of your own if you want. Let me know if
you have more questions
