Salads
One of my favorite things to add to my salad is a handful of broccoli
coleslaw mix. You can get it in the produce department where they keep the bagged lettuce. It's sliced carrots, broccoli and red cabbage. The store brand I buy has 2 net carbs per 1.5 cup serving. And I usually only use about 1 cup sprinkled over my lettuce, just enough to make it colorful and more interesting than just plain lettuce. Also for my salads, I sometimes toss on some sunflower seeds and maybe a teaspoon of french fried onions. And always some nice cheddar cheese. And oil and vinegar dressing, sprinkled with some italian seasoning. And the best housewarming gift I ever received was a salad spinner. What a timesaver! I usually keep it on the counter next to the sink and just rinse it out when I'm done. It makes salads an easy choice when they are so efficient to prepare. Anyway, I just polished off a tremendous salad and thought I'd share. Mathilda |

With a little pinch of cheese here and just a sprinkle of pork cracklins there, all of a sudden I was wondering why I wasn't losing weight even though "I just had a salad for lunch." g Martha -- "ALPO is 99 cents a can.
