New products you might like
By way of introduction, I am a lurker here, and have been on and off
Atkins for a couple of years now, most recently since July, and have lost 14 lbs on my way to a goal of 20-25. I have discovered a couple of new products that I enjoy and thought I would share. First, my practice when Atkins-ing is to have an Atkins bar in the morning, a normal lunch and normal dinner. I have never been that big of a breakfast fan anyway. Until now, the taste of the Atkins bars has not been too exciting for me, but I have discovered the smores flavor, which is excellent. Unfortunately, they were completely sold out at Wal-Mart last night, and at CVS drugs this morning. Lucky I have a stash that will last me the rest of the week. These smores bars are so good that I actually look forward to eating them in the morning. Second, I was at Wal-Mart last night for our weekly family grocery trip, and discovered some low-carb frozen dinners. I can't remember the name, but they come in a blue box, with the number of carbs plainly noted on the front. I bought three, one was beef stew, and the others were chicken, one in a cream sauce and one in a tomato-based sauce. Judging from the photographs on the boxes, instead of pasta or rice, they use veggies like green beans and mushrooms as "filler." I'll try one tonight or tomorrow and report back. If these things are palatable, they will be a boon to the convenience of this diet. ---- Andrew -- is it NOVEMBER yet? I love them, they are a bit pricey but worth the convenience.

Well, I tried the beef stew meal last night, and it was OK, not bad for a frozen dinner, and the portion was nice and big. The beef was tough in some places, and the veggies were typical frozen dinner veggies, with no real character. If the chicken meals are better, I might stick with them, but I don't think I'll be buying the beef again. I'd give it a 6 out of 10. ---- Andrew -- is it NOVEMBER yet?
