heh yeah, she started to feel good and realised she could do way better
than her controlling **** of a husband, and left!

He's just got his panties in a bunch because Atkins gave her the means to
take control of her own life.

*Some* people on low-carb sound cultish. The whole deal with quoting
chapter and verse from low-carb books is a bit weird, rather like people
quoting scripture.

Anyone who goes against accepted beliefs can appear cultish to those who
don't want to hear that the accepted beliefs might not be right after all.

That the troll's ex-wife chose her health and fitness over drinking in
bars every weekend and being kiss-able strikes me as a quite sane choice
on her part; that she continued to make that choice in the face of an
ultimatum seems the only reasonable course of action.

I can't imagine choosing to ruin my health for the sake of someone who
claimed to love me if their "love" required me to risk my health and
life. That's just an insane request to make of anyone and a ridiculous
degree of hubris is required to think your pleasure should be valued
more to someone than their own life.

Such people are sometimes called "feeders" - they want to keep their partner
fat and dependant on them.

The troll claims to loved his wife and divorced her because she wouldn't
do what he wanted - there is no way to reconcile those statements in my
mind.

Conditional love. Nice power trip.

Actually the Troll behind this latest spat of crap is a big paid
newsgroup user-- that probably means he's a porn addict who needs a
steady stream of daily porn to satisfy what he can't get otherwise. I
doubt he could ever have a wife beyond the kind you pay by the hour.
Let's face it--his life must be fairly boring... since he is spending
so much time here. So we should all be understanding and simply put
him out of our misery.

To these people, there is no proving anything. It's already too late
for most of them. The thing to do is to prevent others from getting
started on this so called diet. The thing on this newsgroup is that
the majority of them would not even budge from their catatonic state
of brainwashing if someone dropped dead right in front of them because
of the diet. I bet if Jesus Christ appeared and told them they were
on the wrong road, they'd choose the word of Atkins over that of
Jesus.

Actually J.C. is a regular here. He is very pro-LC.

Most of them on this group are in that babbling idiot stage,
where nothing penetrates their brains any longer, except the almighty
words of Atkins. I know it all too well from my ex-wife. Hell, she
got so bad, that if she ate something that is not "Atkins approved",
like a few french fries, she go to the drugstore and buy some syrup
crap, that would make her vomit. If nothing else, that was the part
that made me make my final decision to leave her. This Atkins diet is
far beyond being a diet, it's complete control of a person, it's an
illness, particularly a mental illness, and it's so very obviously a
cult.

Amazing, you spend years with her, but a little book takes over her
life. You must be crap in bed. I mean, to spend years with a person
and not be able control them the way you like. She looked at you and
found no hope, she read a book and attached onto it like it was a life
raft, a religion--the only way to save herself. Possibly from you I
guess.

And to probe your personal psychosis deeper--you have no problem with
all the other LC diets that say they same thing as Atkins--you don't
find them objectionably at all. Their proponents are not anti-christ
to your CHrist-like self. Of course you're clueless what LC means
which I understand is why you can't distinguish which diet plans out
there are Low Carb. That would take reading and we know you view books
as the work of the devil--people get sucked into cults reading books.
I'm sure you'd burn a few libraries down as long as they had a copy of
Atkins in there somewhere.

It must be very frustrating to go into supermarkets and see Atkins and
Low Carb everywhere--a constant reminder of your failed marraige. You
really do need to be on a therapist's couch. But I imagine you are
just too perfect a guy to every be that weak guy who needs a therapist
to get through a week without lashing out at strangers. I wonder how
many jobs you've been fired from.

Trying to make any sense with these people is a complete waste of
time.

Yes people like you are proof that you can convince yourself of
anything and no amount of logic or reality will prevent a mind that is
so twisted upon itself.

It was the same thing with my ex. But I have learned a lot
about this illness on this newsgroup. If nothing else, I have learned
there is no hope for the majority of them, who are strictly Atkins.

Amen... thank you Jesus. Please save me from this asshole.

I
will give a few of them the benefit of the doubt, but those few appear
more interested in low-carb, but not actually Atkins. I can see now
there is a difference in both the diet, and the person following it.

SOmehow I doubt you can make that distinction--you never have before.
Progress is an illusion with your type.

Unfortunately my ex was totally Atkins. At the same time, I wonder
how many of those who are (as they put it), doing a low-carb diet but
not actually the Atkins diet, will end up being drawn into the Atkins
cult?

Don't worry they scary-people won't come with pitchforks after you.

It's pretty scarey when you think how one man (one dead man), can have
so much power to control and destroy the lives of so many thousands of
people, and even get into mainstream advertising, such as the Subway
commercials.

Ah yes another sign of your ignorance. All those red "A" logos for
Atkins you see have nothing to do with the dead man. They didn't even
before he was dead. You are obsessed with chasing a spectre... a
corporate logo that is controlled by a money-grubbing company.

But there will always be someone out to control the weak
minded individuals in society, and destroy their lives. I've never
quite understood how someone like David Koresh could brainwash all
those kids, to the point of burning to their deaths, or whoever it was
that caused that "Heavens Gate" insanity. I often wonder if these
cults are designed to recruit more suicide terrorists, because who in
their right minds would fly a plane into a building, killing
themselves and everyone else.

The same psychological split that allows devout christians to go to
church every week but hate blacks, jews, arabs, irish, italians,
germans, Atkin's dieters or whoever else they wish to hate
unconditionally.

Yet, when I think about this, I can
easily see where using a diet would be one of the best tools to use to
brainwash people. If the body isnt working right, then the brain wont
work right either. Then add some chemicals, call it a "diet
supplement", and you got control of these people, and can manipulate
them as desired. It's all very scarey, almost something you'd only
expect to read in a science fiction book. Yet, its happening right
before our very eyes.

Time to wake up sleepy head.

While it may be true that he uses Newsguy for that, don't slam Newsguy for it --
they are a GREAT news service (they also include email and web space). If you've
had lots of trouble and annoyances with various newsfeeds and noted a STUNNING
lack of customer support in that area over the years, a nice, steady paid service
where USENET is their #1 PRIORITY is WORTH it.

Not at all, I'm very familiar with the value of a good newsgroup
service for binary retention and completion. I've never had issue with
Easynews. Often the justification for the added expense is related to
the binaries groups. For a typical guy that means illegal movies,
illegal music, illegal games, illegal software, illegal books, and
lots of porn.
